HUGE ILLEGAL ARMS FACTORY SEIZED IN LONI (GHAZIABAD)

With the arrest of three accused (i) Kasmuddin @ Kasmu (55 yrs) s/o Majeed r/o 30 Foota Road, Ashok Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP, (ii) Ajay Kumar @ Ajay (41 yrs) s/o Braham Singh r/o 297, Gali No.3, Karheda Colony, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, UP and (3) Hashim @ Sonu (19 yrs) s/o Noor Mohd r/o H.No.3, Gali.2, 25 Foota  Road, Saraswati Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP, Special Staff of North-East District has busted a notorious gang of illegal  arms manufacturers and recovered 16 sophisticated countrymade pistols of different bores (.315, .32, .12 etc), several parts of countrymade pistols, machine & tools for running illegal arms factory .

INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION: -

Delhi Police has launched a special drive against illicit firearms. During interrogation of several accused, the intriguing and mysterious Kasmu’s Katta have cropped up. A special team was constituted to track and bust the unknown Kasmu. The team worked very hard and activated informers in the area. The result came when a reliable input was received that two notorious illegal arms manufacturers and suppliers of Kasmu’s Katta would come near Kudaghar, Seelampur on a Discover motorcycle. On this information, the dedicated police team comprising of Special Staff North-East District and consisting of ASIs Jitender Singh, Parmod, HCs Rajkumar, Krishan, Braham Pal, Jaivir, Cts. Rajeev and Sanjay under the leadership of Inspector Aishbir Singh, I/C Special Staff and under close supervision of Sh. Devender Arya, Addl.DCP was formed and a trap was laid at 66 Foota Road near Kudaghar Seelampur Road. As informed by the informer, two persons on a Bajaj Discover motorcycle bearing registration No.DL-7S-BP-2366 came from Seelampur side towards Gokal Puri. A police official signalled them to stop, but they tried to escape by taking U-turn to flee away. The team acted very smartly and apprehended them after a long chase. The police team showed bravery and courage to chase and nab them. They later disclosed their names & addresess as Kasmuddin @ Kasmu and Ajay Kumar @ Ajay. Both of them were found in possession of 15 country made fire-arms (Desi Katta: .315 bore-13, .32 bore-01, and 12 bore-01) and live cartridges (.315 bore-20, .32 bore-02, and 12 bore -16). Ajay was found in possession of 8 country made Desi Kattas and 27 live cartridges while Kasmuddin @ Kasmu was found in possession of 7 country made Desi Kattas & 11 live cartridges.  After sustained interrogation, one person namely Hashim @ Sonu (19 yrs) s/o Noor Mohd r/o H.No.3, Gali No.2, 25 foota Road Saraswati Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP was also arrested with one countrymade pistol. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.304/17 u/s 25 Arms Act & 34 IPC was registered at PS Seelampur.   

INTERROGATION: -

Accused Kasmuddin @ Kasmu and Ajay Kumar @ Ajay were interrogated at length. Kasmuddin disclosed that he had learnt the manufacturing of the illegal arms from his brother-in-law (Sadhu) Ramzan in Muzaffar Nagar. He along with Ramzan used to manufacture the illegal fire arms about ten years back. After the death of Ramzan, he shifted to his native village Paldi, Distt-Baghpat, UP and re-started manufacturing of the illegal arms but was caught by UP Police about 8 years back. Three years ago, he came to Loni for living in a rented house, where he started a welding shop. Camouflaged behind the wielding shop, he started the manufacturing of illegal firearms. Presently, he is supplying the arms to accused Ajay and one Kale of Barnava, Distt-Baghpat, UP, who later supply them all over Delhi, NCR and parts of UP, particularly western UP.

For manufacturing of the weapons, Kasmu purchases the firearms barrels, fire pins, fire pin caps from Meerut and other remaining accessories are made by himself. His country made Desi Kattas are famous as Kasmu’s Kattas among the criminals. All criminals prefer to purchase Kasmu’s Kattas owing to its effectiveness and reliability. During the course of interrogation, accused Ajay disclosed that he has been involved in supplying the countrymade pistols to criminal in Delhi and UP, to earn quick money and to fulfill his daily needs and other expenditure. He purchased country made pistols from Kasmuddin and live cartridges from one Rajneesh for Rs.200/- per cartridge and sold then for Rs. 400/- per cartridge. They used to sell the country made pistols to the criminals of Delhi and UP, the price ranging around five thousand rupees.

As indicated earlier, these quality weapons had been renowned as “Kasmu Ka Katta” in the crime world and are in great demand among criminals. After sustained interrogation, another accused namely Hashim @ Sonu s/o Noor Mohd was also arrested with one countrymade pistol. Hashim @ Sonu disclosed that he used to buy the countrymade pistol from Ajay in Loni.

They are cheaper than the Munger weapons by almost as good as those from Khargore and Barwani areas of Madhya Pradesh. They are good enough for committing crimes, and are therefore cost effective in the sense of good value for money for the criminals. Moreover, being so near to Delhi makes them accessible and their cost remains low since charges of carriers are not required, who take their commissions.

(1) Kasmuddin @ Kasmu is married, illiterate and is a blacksmith by profession.

(2) Ajay Kumar @ Ajay is married, studied up to 10th standard and is a vegetable seller.

(3) Hashim @ Sonu s/o Noor Mohd, r/o H.No.3, Gali No.2, 25 Foota Road, Saraswati Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP, aged 19 years.

Kasmuddin was arrested in PS-Dhoghat, UP, about 8-9 years back.
