CCTV footage led to arrest of three burglars.

  • Stolen mobile phones, gold jewelry and house breaking equipments recovered.

 The police team of PS Malviya Nagar, South District have arrested three notorious burglars namely Vinod Thapa, age 22 years s/o Bhoj Thapa R/o Mansarovar Garden, Rajauri Garden, Delhi, Ajay Giri @ Arjun, age 21 years S/o Suresh R/o Hauz Rani, Delhi and Vishnu Rana S/o Ran Bahadur R/o Hauz Rani, New Delhi and recovered stolen mobile phone, gold jewelry and house breaking equipments and 15 cases of burglary / theft of PS Malviya Nagar solved.   

Brief facts :

Complainant Sh. Girish Pasricha r/o Malviya Nagar, New Delhi reported that in the intervening night of 10/11.06.17, he along with his family had gone to India Gate and when he returned at 01.30 am, he found that main door of his house was broken and cash / jewelry were stolen from his house. A case vide e-FIR vide No. 0850/17 u/s 457/380 IPC, PS Malviya Nagar was registered and investigation taken up.

Investigation :

A police team led by Inspr. Satinder Sangwan, SHO/Malviya Nagar consisting of SI Deepak Kumar, ASI Rajender, HC Gurnam and Ct. Naresh was constituted under the supervision of Sh. Rajender Pathania, ACP/Hauz Khas to trace and arrest the burglars, committing crime in the area.  

The police team worked relentlessly and made extensive search in the neighbouring areas of L Block, Malviya Nagar and collected CCTV footages to identify the movement of burglars. On analyzing the CCTV footage, three persons were identified, who committed the burglary.  On the basis of description of culprits retrieved from the CCTV footage, a large number of people working / residing in the area were enquired and CCTV footage was shown to them. After vigorous efforts made by the police team, the burglars were identified as Vinod Thapa, Ajay Giri @ Arjun and Vishnu Rana. The information was further developed and on receipt of specific input, raids were conducted in Rajauri Garden and Hauz Rani area and all above three accused persons were arrested.


Interrogation :

During interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they used to conduct reccee in the residential areas to identify the locked houses and commit burglary during night.

Profile of accused persons :

1.  Ajay Giri @ Arjun, age 21 years S/o Suresh R/o 101, Hauz Rani, Delhi hails from District Bhutol (Nepal).  He is a school dropout and addicted to drugs.  He came in contact with the bad elements and started committing burglary/theft in Delhi. He was initially arrested in case FIR No. 821/14 u/s 363 /341/354B IPC & 12 POCSO ACT PS Malviya Nagar.

2.  Vinod Thapa, 22 years S/o Bhoj Thapa R/o Mansarowar Garden, Rajauri Garden, Delhi is a school dropout.  He belongs to Gulmi Hasara (Nepal). He came in contact with bad elements and started consuming drugs and joined them in theft / burglaries.

3.  Vishnu Rana S/o Ran Bahadur R/o Hauz Rani, Delhi is a school dropout. He hails from Gulmi Hasara (Nepal). He alongwith family came Delhi in the year 2007. He is addicted to drugs.

Recovery:

1.   Stolen mobile phone and gold jewelry.

2.   House breaking equipments.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
