GANG OF HIGH PROFILE STOLEN MOBILE DEALERS USED TO SELL EXPENSIVE MOBILES AFTER CHANGING IMEI’S BUSTED

SIXTY FIVE STOLEN MOBILES ALONG WITH LATEST GADGETS USED TO CHANGE IMEI, BREAK PHONE LOCK AND FLASH GOOGLE ACCOUNTS OF EXPENSIVE MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED 

 On 23.06.2017 acting on a tip of, the team of PS Sangam Vihar, South-East District has arrested two gang members of stolen mobile dealers along with sixty five stolen mobiles along with instruments used to change IMEI’s of stolen mobiles, break phone lock and to flash Google accounts. So far mobile theft cases vide FIR No. 000110/2017 & 000410/2017 both of PS Sangam Vihar have been worked out with the recovery and further mobiles are being connected so as to work out more theft cases. 



INFORMATION,TEAM AND OPERATION, On 23.06.17, secret information was received at PS Sangam Vihar, that two gang members of high profile stolen mobile dealers are about to come in front of Air Force Station near Monkey Park on MB road on bike with stolen mobile phones at about 4.00 pm. The above information was discussed with senior officers and as per directions a team comprising of SI Jitender Malik, SI Rohit Chahar, HC Ramkesh, Ct. Mukesh, Ct. Pankaj, Ct. Ravi, Ct. Narayan under the supervision of Insp. Upender Singh SHO Sangam Vihar was constituted in overall supervision of ACP/Ambedkar Nagar Sh. Rajkumar Khatana. During further proceedings at about 4.10 pm on the instance of secret source police team intercepted two persons a Hero Passion motorcycle bearing number DL 1 SQ 2884. Whose name and address revealed as Mehtab Malik S/o Habbu Malik R/o D-177, Bilaspur Camp, Molarband village Badarpur New Delhi and Praveen Kumar Sharma S/o Mukesh Kumar R/o Village Munda Khera PS Khurja Kotwali District Bulandshahr UP. On spot total four mobile phones were recovered separately from the possession of above accused persons, out of them two were found to be connected vide FIR No.s 000110/17, 000410/17 PS Sangam Vihar Delhi and remaining are being verified. Upon interrogation accused Mehtab Malik disclosed that he is high profile dealer of stolen mobile phones. He collects stolen mobiles from the area and changes their IMEI’s in order to sell them in open market on higher price. Since because the IMEI of phone is changed, therefore no investigating agency could track it further. Accused Mehtab Malik also told that he is using latest gadgets so as to break pattern locks, flash Google accounts and change IMEI’s of expensive phones. During further proceedings sixty one more stolen mobile phones along with latest gadgets like UMT Tool, DC unlocker, BST device, Z3X device, Octopus device, Flashing Interfacing device and ghost SIM were also recovered on the instance of accused Mehtab Malik from his room at D-177, Bilaspur Camp Molarband village Badarpur Delhi. During interrogation accused persons disclosed that they used to procure stolen, snatched and robbed phones, verification of those phones are under process.



PROFILE INVESTIGATION & INTERROGATION



Upon interrogation it revealed that accused is permanent resident of village Kothi Ka Nangla PS Khurja Kotwali District Bulandshahr U.P. He is residing in Delhi since 2003, though accused Mehtab Malik is studied up to fifth class yet by the due course of time he becomes expert in mobile hardware and software activities. Because of his dual marriage he could not patch up with expenditures and got indulged in illegal activities. Later on he came in to the contact of thieves and started to purchase expensive stolen phones and after changing their IMEI started to sell them on handsome price in open market. 

During further interrogation accused Mehtab Malik disclosed about the method he adopted to change the IMEI number. During further interrogation it also revealed that accused Mehtab Malik had also been previously arrested in snatching cases of PS Okhla, Govindpuri, Amar Colony and Lajpat Nagar Delhi.

During interrogation accused Praveen Sharma told that he is resident of village Munda Khera PS Khurja Kotwali District Bulandshahr UP. He is also in mobile repairing business and known to accused Mehtab Malik about two days ago he came to Delhi for receiving stolen mobile phones.
