With the arrest of the accused person, East District Police has solved the road rage murder case
INCIDENT: On 04.12.2016, an incident of firing was reported from the area of PS New Ashok Nagar. The firing incident took place at around 10.15 PM. Sh Deepak Singh s/o Sh Vir Singh, aged 25 years r/o Faridabad was brought dead to Metro Hospital. He was having a gun shot wound in his head. On enquiry, it was revealed that the deceased Deepak Singh alongwith six of his friends had come to attend a marriage ceremony in the area of PS New Ashok Nagar. After attending the marriage function, they were returning their hired taxi. On the way back, a Ford Endeavour vehicle which was being driven at a high speed in rash and negligent manner, coming from the opposite side, brush aside their vehicle. Both the vehicles stopped and the occupants started arguing with each other. During scuffle, the alleged accused fired from point blank range and Deepak Singh died while he was being taken to Metro Hospital.
INVESTIGATION: Five Teams of East District were formed to track the offending vehicle involved in the incident. CCTV footage were checked but no fruitful clue could be found. However, a search of the Ford Endeavour vehicle having red colour was launched and clue was obtained regarding the probable registration number of the vehicle involved in the incident. Help was taken from Regional Transport Office Authority (RTO) to track down such vehicles. Teams were sent to Uttrakhand, Ghaziabad and Noida. Manual as well as technical surveillance was mounted. Accused Yashpal Singh aged 40 years, a property dealer by profession was arrested. The revolver used in the crime alongwith live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused.
INTERROGATION : During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was returning from a marriage function of his relative and had consumed liquor in large quantity. While he was driving the vehicle, he lost control and, at a turn on the round, he saw an Innova coming towards his vehicle. He could not control his vehicle and the other vehicle barely managed to avoid a head-on-collision. The accused was heavily drunk and started quarrelling with the occupants of the Innova vehicle. During arguments, the accused took out his license revolver and shot dead the victim from blank range.
Profile of the Accused : Accused, Yash Pal Singh, aged 40 years has studied upto 12th Class. He is a property dealer by profession having his property dealer office at Bhopura. He purchased his Ford Endeavour in the month of October,2016 and had registered his vehicle at Haridwar.
