2 EXTORTIONISTS ARRESTED

  • THREATENDED TO KILL SON OF A BUSSINESSMAN.
  • EXTORTED MONEY RECOVERED.
INTRODUCTION: -
  Crime Branch has arrested two extortionists Sanjeev Duggal @ Sagar  (51 yrs) s/o  Kewal Kisan Duggal  r/o Krishna Nagar, Delhi (permanent address Nihal Vihar, Delhi) and Shamrul Haq (65 yrs) s/o Tayiab Hussain r/o Sakir Hotel, Maharaja Pur, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP (Permanent address: Village Parsa, PS Ram Patti, PS Raj Nagar, District Madhubani, Bihar). Accused Sanjay Duggal @ Sagar owns a business pest control. Case FIR No.515/16 u/s 386/34 IPC was registered against him at  PS Vivek Vihar.
INFORMATION, TEAM AND OPERATION:-
On 02.12.2016, information was received at Eastern Range of Crime Branch about a person is demanding extortion money of Rs.25 lac from Lalit Grover r/o, Vivek Vihar, Delhi. He threatened to kill his son if he did not give the demanded money. A team led by ACP Anand Kumar Mishra, consisting of Inspr. Vinay Tyagi, SI Dinesh Kumar, ASI Ramesh Kumar, Raj Kumar, Satyawan, HCs Sanjeev  Kumar, Sunil Kumar,  Dinesh Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Vivek Kumar, Sudhakar, Karambir, Cts Shashikant, Satish Kumar and Gaurav was constituted under the supervision of DCP Dr G Ram Gopal Naik and under overall guidance of Addl. CP K.K. Vyas to nab the criminals.  
A specific information was received by ASI Ramesh Kumar that one of the suspects would come to receive the extortion money near Shivam Enclave Red Light in the area of PS Vivek Vihar, Delhi.
Accordingly, a trap was laid near Shivam Enclave Red Light Chowk, in the area of PS Vivek Vihar, Delhi and the accused Sanjay Duggal @ Sagar and Shamrul Haq, a Rikshaw puller were apprehended.
INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI: -
On sustained interrogation, accused Sanjeev Duggal @ Sagar  disclosed that on 22.11.2016, complainant Sh. Lalit Grover contacted him on his mobile number for pest control in his house and he went to the complainant’s house at Vivek Vihar, Delhi. In 2014, he also did pest control work at the above said house and his another flat. Sanjay Duggal @ Sagar came to know about sound financial condition of the complainant. Sanjeev Duggal colluded with Shamsul Haq to extort money from Lalit Grover. On 28.11.2016, he called Lalit Grover on his phone and demanded Rs.25 lac or threatened to kill his son. After that he continuously called him and pressurize him to deliver extort money. On 02.12.2016, he called him to put cash in rikshaw with two pink teddy bears, which will be parked near Red Light, Shivam Enclave. They were eventually apprehended by the police at the spot while they were receiving extorted money. Crime branch has arrested both the accused Sanjeev Duggal @ Sagar and Shamsul Haq u/s 41.1(a) Cr.P.C for their involvement in the case vide FIR No. 515/2016 U/s 386/34 IPC PS Vivek Vihar, Delhi.
RECOVERY: -
  1. One Scooty No. DL-5S AM 5521, Make Jupiter of Silver colour.
  2. One rikshaw from the possession of accused Shamsul Haq.
  3. Two teddy bears of pink colour.
  4. Two mobile phones used by accused person during the crime.
  5. Three packets of dummy amount of ransom which was prepared by the complainant to handed over to the accused persons in lieu of extortion money/Original Indian Currency Notes. Recovered from both accused persons.     
PROFILE: -

  1. Sanjeev Duggal @ Sagar was born in 1965 in Kavi Nagar, Ghaziabad, UP. He passed his graduation from MMH College, Ghaziabad, UP. He came in Delhi 16 years ago and his father purchased one house in Nihal Vihar, Delhi. He is having his wife and one son of eight years. He was running his own business of pest control in Delhi and Ghaziabad. He became unemployed after demonetization and no one was asking for the pest control and he was having no money to run his own family. So, he planned to extort money from complainant as he was the easy target.
  2. Shamrul Haq was born in his native village in Bihar and has studied upto 7th class from a government school in his native village Parsa, Madhubani, Bihar. He came in Delhi in the year 2013 and started his work as Rikshaw Puller and Rikshaw rented on Rs 50 /- per day from one Sakheel Ahmed of Maharaj pur, Sahibabad, UP. On 1.12.2016, he came in contact with accused Sanjeev Duggal @ Sagar while he was pulling Rikshaw in Vivek Vihar area. Earlier, he was never arrested in any crime.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized.
