3 ARRESTED - THEY USED TO STEAL CARS ON DEMAND

With the arrest of three auto lifters, the staff of AATS of North-West District has busted an inter-State Gang of Auto-lifters and have recovered 09 Semi-luxury cars from their possession.
  1. Sanjeev@Ganja s/o Late Jagdish r/o Loni Ghaziabad, UP.
  2. Mohd. Shahjad s/o Late Ishlamuddine r/o Bara Hindu Rao, Delhi.
  3. Mahesh Kumar @ Kabuter s/o Harender Kumar r/o Gita Vihar, Quarshi Mohalla, Aligarh, UP.

Incident:-

On 19.07.2016, complaintant Rakesh Bhardwaj R/O Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, reported theft of his Honda City Car bearing registration No. DL-1CJ-0730 subsequent to which a criminal case vide FIR No. 021128/16, u/s 379 IPC was registered at PS Shalimar Bagh, Delhi and the investigation of the said case was transferred to AATS/NWD.

In view of the situation a team comprising of SI Ved Parkash, HC Deepak Tyagi and other staff under the leadership of Insp Arun Kumar (AATS/NWD) and under the supervision of ACP/Operations was assigned the specific task of working out the case. The team laid traps in the area of different police stations to apprehend the members of the Gang.

On 22.07.2016, a tip off was received by H.C Deepak Tyagi that a desperate auto-lifter, namely Sanjeev @ Ganja gang is active in the area of North-West, Distt., Delhi and he alongwith his associates  would come in a stolen car near Shah Alam Bandh, Mukerjee Nagar, Delhi.  Acting on the tip off, the team laid trap and at about 4.15 PM the occupant namely Sanjeev@Ganja & Shahjad of Estilo Car bearing registration No. DL-3CAW-1827 were seen coming.  On verification the said car was found to be stolen vide FIR No.014609/16 PS Subash Place, Delhi.  During checking inside the car few documents related to a car bearing No.DL-1CJ-0730 were also found from the dash board of the said car. After verification of these documents, they were found related to a Honda City Car which was reported stolen vide FIR No.021128/16 u/s 379 IPC PS Shalimar Bagh, Delhi.  Thereafter both the accused Sanjeev@Ganja and Sehjad were arrested in the said case.  Later on with efforts of the team, another gang member Mahesh@Kabuter was also apprehended.  On their instance, 08 more stolen semi- luxurious cars were recovered.

Modus Operandi :-On sustained interrogation, accused Sanjeev @ Ganja disclosed that he along with Shahjad and others used to steal the car from Delhi and NCR on demand made by their receivers namely Sunny, Ranjeet, Raja resident of Punjab, Soaib, Hafiz of Meerut and Mustkin of Aligarh, UP.  Arrested accused used to come in i20/Santro car in search of the demanded vehicle. After stealing the car they used to park it at different locations (parking areas, under construction Metro Stations, Flats parking areas, market areas, etc.) in Delhi/NCR and also to check whether any GPS system is installed in the vehicle.  Thereafter they called Mahesh@Kabuter from Aligarh to tamper with the engine and chassis number of stolen vehicle, where they provided him the desired engine and chassis number of the car and charge Rs.5000/-.  Mahesh@Kabuter applied unique technique to tamper with the engine and chassis numbers of the stolen vehicle as he gained expertise in this field.  He gives so fine color to his job that sometime an expert cannot distinguish between the genuine and tempered vehicle. In this technique he used printing frame and certain chemicals like Potassium Bromide and Grinder, Emulsion, Black Ink, Transparent Papers and others tools.  Later on they supplied these vehicles with tampered engine and chassis numbers to their receivers.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. HE ALLEGEDELY OPERATED INSIDE THE JAIL CARRYING REWARD OF Rs. 20,000/- District Anti Robbery Cell, NWD has nabbed a desperate extortionist namely Harsimran @ Badal @ Simran s/o Harvinder Singh r/o BK-1/103-A, East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who is gang leader of Harsimran @ Badal Gang and carrying reward of Rs. 20000/-. He is a dreaded criminal of PS Shalimar Bagh and is involved in total 15 cases including two murders at PS Burari & Mandir Marg.
