With the arrest of accused Sourabh @ Rohan @ Golu, the staff of police station Mangol Puri have cracked a sensational, gruesome and blind murder case reported vide FIR No. 64/17 dated 16.01.17 U/s 302 IPC Police Station Mangol Puri, Delhi.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED:
   Sourabh @ Rohan @ Golu S/o Tara Chand R/o H. No. D-693, 2nd Floor, Gali No. 12, Mangolpuri, Delhi age 23 Yrs. Unmarried, Education- 8th pass. Presently unemployed. No previous involvements. He used to work as a part time photographer .
Incident:-
On 16.01.17, a dead body of a male person was found in a pool of blood in the area of D-Block, Mangolpuri, Delhi. The head was crushed badly and initially there were no clues. On the face of it, it appears to be a case of murder-cum- robbery.

Investigation : Four teams of police station Mangol Puri, under the supervision of Sh. Darde Sharad Bhaskar-ACP/Sultan Puri, comprising of Inspr. Arvind Kumar-SHO/Mangolpuri, Inspr. Narender Singh, SI Kamlesh Kumar, ASI Rajbir, ASI Baljeet, Ct. Hanuman, Ct. Sunil and Ct. Devender were constituted to track and arrest the criminal involved in this blind murder case.

       The local criminals involved in the robbery incidences were interrogated at length. However, no clue could be obtained. A systematic search of young persons living in the nearby localities, who were found to be absent at their residence was launched and it was found that a few such young persons were missing from their respective residences for the last 3 or 4 days. The teams were sent to locate them. During the course of interrogation and search, it came to notice that one person had got himself admitted in a De-addiction/ Rehabilitation Home on the day the murder was reported. Detailed enquiries were conducted and finally Sourabh @ Rohan @ Golu s/o Tara Chand r/o D-693, Mangolpuri, Delhi (aged 23)  was arrested.

Interrogation :- Sustained enquiry revealed that the deceased had visited  his sister living in the area of  D Block Mangol Puri on the night of 15/1/2017. He started for his residence from D Block Mangol Puri. While he was  going to the local Auto Stand, he met accused Sourabh. They had argument over a petty issue. Accused Sourabh became aggressive and hit the deceased. When the deceased fell down, he hit him repeatedly with a stone and crushed his head and face to conceal the identity of the deceased. The accused thought of an alibi plan, so he went to the  rehabilitation centre based at Khanpur, Delhi and got himself admitted on the day the murder was reported. He wanted to give an impression that he was admitted to the rehabilitation centre for a long time and was not present at the time and place of occurrence. However, during sustained interrogation, he broke down and confessed his involvement in the gruesome murder.
In order to give it a facade of robbery, he took away the mobile phone and wallet of the deceased so that the police will be misled to believing it as a case of robbery as well. However, due to sustained interrogation carried out by the police team, led by Sh. Darde Sharad Bhaskar-ACP/Sultan Puri, the entire plan was blown off.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
