On 20.01.2017 at 3.30 PM, a meeting with members of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isai Ekta committee, Delhi Trade & Industry Federation and RWAs/MWAs of East District was held in conference hall, East District for better Security arrangements and Law & Order in connection with forthcoming Republic Day -2017. The meeting was attended by DCP, Addl. DCP, all SDPOs & all SHOs of East District. During the meeting, various suggestions were given by the members to improve the policing in East District during the Republic Day celebration. The members of the MWAs appreciated the work done by East District police where by the cited the good work done by PS Madhu Vihar in arresting the murder accused from Ajanta Apartment IP Extension in which 11 police personnel risk their life and sustained critical burn injuries. Thus, they protected many residents of the society and others from criminal assault and fire of the said murderer. Secondly, the New Ashok Nagar case where the pedophile was arrested after sustained efforts of the local police. The pedophile had sexually and criminally assaulted several minor girl children all over Delhi and several states of North India. In order to ensure foolproof security arrangements in East District during the Republic Day, DCP/East District sought cooperation from the members of RWAs/MWAs in this regard. 486 small, medium & big Associations were  represented by their office bearers namely Sh Anuj Atrey,  Radhey Shaym Gupta, Ratan Singh Verma, Jitender Chaudhary, Mrs. Kavita Ashok and others. They spoke about good works done by East District Police and promised to extend their cooperation in the near future. Prompt response and coordinated action of Police, Fire, DDMA and various Associations during mock drill at various malls/Hospitals, Iconic buildings, ISBT Anand Vihar Etc. was appreciated by all and sundry.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas.
