INDUSTRIAL AREA SECURITY REVIEW- NORTHERN RANGE

In view of forthcoming Republic Day function, Sh. Sanjay Singh IPS, Joint Commissioner/Northern Range reviewed security arrangements of Industrial Areas falling in the jurisdiction of Rohini and North-West Districts. A meeting with the members of Industiral Area Associations i.e. Narela, Bawana, Samey Pur Badli, Wazir Pur Industrial Area, Rajesthan Udyog Nagar, Lawrence Road, Industrial area and Shakti Nagar Industrial Area, GT Karnal Road was held at community centre sector 18, Rohini, Delhi today i.e. 10.1.2017.
Members of the associations were sensitized about the security issues and urged to be proactive to support the police to strengthen the security of the Industrial Areas. Several security related aspects like installation of CCTV Cameras, Barricading, establishment of Police Assistance Booths/ Pickets, and deployments of Private Security Guards, electrification of dark stretches etc. were reviewed and shortcomings were shortlisted. As a result of regular interaction and coordination, the associations of industrial areas got successfully installed 524 CCTV Cameras, 127 Barricades, 235 Security guards hired, 45 streets light repaired and 18 Police Pickets setup in their respective industrial areas. Jt.CP/NR appreciated the initiatives taken by the associations.  

Joint CP/NR emphasized use of digital transaction instead of carrying huge amount as it would prevent incidents of snatching/robbery. He also stressed upon proper verification of workers before employing them. Those who provide residential facilities in the premises should also ensure that no stranger is allowed to stay without their knowledge. WhatsApp group of members of association-wise also needs to be structured and linked all for better coordination among themselves and with the police for sharing information and issues relating to safety and security. Proper maintenance of existing CCTV Cameras was underlined. Using of wireless set for better communication with security guards especially in compact area was also emphasised.

The common problems identified during the inter-actions with the associations of of the industrial area inter-alia illegal parking by Trucks, Cars, Eco Vans at the gates, illegal activities in parks/kiosk, encroachment selling of illicit liquor and crime due to anti-social elements living in and around the industrial area in slums and JJ clusters.  The members were assured that patrolling would be intensified and adequate number of police personnel would be deployed to curb the illegal activities pointed out by them. The concerned ACsP of the area along with Traffic personnel would visit during peak hours and take necessary action to check illegal parking in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic. All ACsP and SHOs were directed to get the shortcomings rectified in coordination with the Industrial Area Welfare Associations in a time bound manner.  

The Members of the associations appreciated interaction with senior police officer and assured that they would take all possible steps to strengthen the security of their respective Industrial areas. The undersigned, DCP/Rohini, Addl. DCsP, ACsP, SHOs of Northern Range were also present during the meeting.
