Inter State Module of Arms Supply busted

·        Heavy quantity of illegal arms including 40 semi automatic pistols of different calibre recovered

·        Two arm supplier arrested

A team of Crime Branch has busted an interstate gang involved in supplying illegal arms and ammunition of different caliber from Bihar and Madhya Pradesh in Delhi/NCR.  Two persons have been arrested and from their possession 40 semi-automatic pistols of different caliber have been recovered. The recovered weapons were manufactured with high proficiency skills and hardly anyone could detect the imitation. This gang was operating since last many years and had supplied more than 300-400 illegal weapons to various gangsters/criminals of Delhi/NCR.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION:-

      During recent past, several incidents of firing took place in Delhi/NCR, in which illegal weapons were used by the criminals/gangsters.  During analysis of these cases, it surfaced that the illegal fire arms being used in such type of incidents are being smuggled from Bihar and Madhya Pradesh by several gangs.  To apprehend the criminals and to unearth the whole nexus, a dedicated team of ISC, Crime Branch under the supervision of ACP Sh. Sanjay Sehrawat was put on the task to collect the details about these criminals. It was revealed that a gang involving Deepak,Sajjid and their associates is actively involved in smuggling the illegal arms.  A careful study regarding the Modus Operandi of this gang was carried out and a close watch as well as surveillance was mounted over the suspected persons. 

            On 29/04/2017, specific information was received that Deepak Kumar and his associate would come to AnandVihar via train to deliver the consignment of illegal weapons to a local conduit of a gangster. Accordingly, a team led by Insp. Sunil Kumar, and comprising of SIsNeeraj Kumar, RadheyShyam, ASIs Rakesh Kumar, Vaseek Ahmed, Vijay Pratap, Surender, HCs Ieed Mohammad, Sunil Pandey, Pawan Kumar, Salimudin, CtsSikander, Rahul and  Shubhash under the close supervision of undersigned was constituted and a trap was laid. At about 7:40 Pm, two persons who were later identified as Deepak Kumar Saha(Age- 35 yrs) S/o Sh. Om ParkashSaha R/o Mohalla- PuraniGanj, PS- Kasim Bazar, Munger, Bihar and Sajid (Age- 34 yrs) S/o Sh. Isarat R/o H No. 65, Nityanandpur, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh were apprehended near Roubd About, Ghajipur flyover, NH-24, Delhi and from their possession 40 semi automatic pistols were recovered. A case under the appropriate section of law has been registered against them at PS-Crime Branch.

INTERROGATION :-

They were subjected to intensive interrogation, it was revealed that gang headed by Deepak was involved in this illegal trade of weapon since last 10-11 years and had supplied more than 300-400 sophisticated weapons to various persons including the gangsters of the region. In the year 2006, Deepak came in contact with Guddu r/o Munger who was involved in illicit trade of illegal weapons.  Deepak started supplying weapons along with Guddu in various parts of the country and on getting the good returns in this illegal trade, he himself started collecting the orders of illegal weapons from his associates based in UP and Delhi.  Deepak used to take whole amount as advance before the delivery of the consignment of illegal weapons. About 6-7 months back, Sajjid had joined the gang of Deepak and had started supplying the illegal arms to gangsters in Delhi/NCR region. Various gangsters and criminals of Delhi and NCR were in touch with this gang for fulfilling their demands of sophisticated weapons. Efforts are being made to identify them.

To escape the police dragnet, this gang has adopted a unique modus operandi.  Member of the gang would collect the consignment of illegal weapon from their sources in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh and would travel in train to their desired destination in AC-1^st Class/AC 2^nd Class.

The description and the rates of the weapon purchased/supplied by these gang are given below:

1.      .32 pistol purchased @ Rs. 15 to 20,000/- and sold @ Rs. 20-25,000/-

2.      9 MM pistol purchased @ Rs. 15 to 20,000/- and sold @ Rs. 25-30,000/-

3.      .30 pistol purchased @ Rs. 25-30,000/- and sold @ Rs. 30-35,000/

PROFILE

1.      Deepak Kumar Saha (aged 34 yrs)s/o Om ParkashSaha r/o Mohalla- PuraniGanj, PS- Kasim Bazar, Munger, Bihar has studied upto 8^th class. He is habitual offender and has been arrested several times by UP Police and Delhi Police. In the year 2016, he was arrested by Crime Branch, Delhi Police while supplying 20 illegal weapons.

2.      Sajid S/o Sh. Isarat R/o H No. 65, Nityanandpur, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh has studied upto 5^th class. He usually works as tailor. He is a close associate of Ale Nabi, a notorious gangster of Meerut and involved in arms smuggling. He came in contact with Deepak about 6 months ago.
