Gang of street robbers busted by Crime Branch

  • Two members of the gang arrested including the gang leader.
  • Accused confessed involvement in dozens of street crime robbery/snatching incidents with passersby.
  • Three looted mobile phones recovered.    
INTRODUCTION
The Crime Branch has busted a gang of street robbers active in Uttam Nagar and Vikaspuri area and arrested two members of the gang including the gang leader from Uttam Nagar area. The accused person have confessed their involvement in dozens street crime of robberies/snatchings in different areas of Uttam Nagar and Janakpuri and total 3 looted mobile phones have been recovered from their possession. The arrested accused persons have been identified as: -
1. Amit Chouhan (22 years) r/o The Camp Krishna Colony, Hastal Road, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
2. Mohd. Sikandar @ Saddam (22 years) r/o Hastal Village, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION
Ct. Kuldeep Singh posted in IGIS, Crime Branch, Dwarka received a secret information that the accused Amit Chouhan, who is involved in several cases of loot in area of Uttam Nagar and Vikapuri would come near Ayyappa Park, DDA Flats, Hastal to dispose off the stolen mobile phones. This information was further developed and a team of Crime Branch under supervision of ACP Jasbir Singh led by Insp. Yashpal Singh comprising ASIs Bhoop Singh, Randhawa, Govind, Mahesh Tyagi, HC Dharmender and Consts. Kuldeep Singh, Ravinder Singh and Badri Prasad was constituted to nab the criminals. The team laid a trap near expected place of their arrival and both the accused person were successfully apprehended. On search, 3 costly mobile phones were recovered from their possession, out of which two have been connected with incidents of PS Vikas Puri and Uttam Nagar. Subsequently, both were arrested under appropriate sections of law.          
INTERROGATION & DISCLOSURE
  Both the accused person belong to poor families residing in area of Hastal Village, Uttam Nagar and are illiterate. The accused Amit Chouhan is working as sweeper on contract basis in MCD, while the accused Sikandar @ Saddam is working as welder in the area. They were not happy with their present earning. So they formed a gang comprising Amit Chouhan, Sikandar @ Saddam and one Billouchi residing nearby to them and started looting passersby at lonely places in different areas of Uttam Nagar and Vikapuri.
MODUS OPRENDI
The accused Amit Chouhan is expert in choking neck and he used to choke the neck of their target victim going on foot from backside due to which the victim got unconscious for some time and his associates Sikandar @ Saddam and Billouchi used to loot his purse and mobile phones and fled away from the spot.  
On interrogation, the accused Amit Chouhan have confessed his involvement in 14 such incidents, while the accused Sikandar @ Saddam is involved in 4 such incidents with their associate Billouchi. The incidents disclosed by the accused persons are being linked with the respective FIRs and are mostly in the area of Uttam Nagar and Vikaspuri.

Concerned authorities at PSs Uttam Nagar and Vikaspuri have been informed regarding arrest of the accused persons.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
