FAKE CALL CENTRE DUPING PERSONS BY OBTAINING OTP FROM THEM BUSTED. 7 PERSONS ARRESTED.

  • 60 ACTIVATED SIMS, 20 WALKIE TALKIE AND 11 MOBILE PHONES RECOVERED.
With the arrest of 7 persons, local police have busted a gang that cheated gullible people by contacting them on mobile phones, indeed to obtain OTP message and then got various amounts transferred to their accounts. The gang was running call centre at Sagar Pur, South West Delhi. The gang used to operate by using mobile SIMs obtained on fake I.D. papers.


BRIEF FACTS: On 18/11/17, on the basis of a secret information that a person will come at G.T. Road near SBI Bank to sell SIMs issued on fake IDs ,a team of local police of PS M.S. Park comprising of SI Arvind Kumar, H.C. Deepender, Ct. Rajiv laid a trap near SBI Bank at G.T. Road. At about 2.30 PM, a person identified as Sanjay Chadda was nabbed on a scooty near SBI Bank. 28 SIMs activated on fake IDs of Idea Company were recovered from his possession. On verification of sims, it was found that all SIMs are activated and issued on fake addresses.  Case FIR No. 399/17 dated 19.11.17 u/s 420/468/471/188/120B IPC was registered at PS M S Park.  Accused Sanjay Chaddha was arrested and 2 days PC remand was obtained. During remand, he disclosed that he and his brother Sanjeev Chaddha purchased such SIMs from one Akashya of Jankapuri. Sanjay Chaddha also disclosed that he had sold about 1000 SIMs of different companies to different Call Centers in Delhi/NCR. After that a raid was conducted at Sagarpur on the instance of Sanjay Chaddha. A call center by the name of Just Deal Bazar was running from there. On interrogation, employees of that company disclosed that they make calls in the name of different banks to the people of South India region for the purpose of obtaining OTP Bank messages received in their mobiles. 5 persons namely 1) Amir 2) Sandeep 3) Abhishek 4) Kundan & 5) Satyan of that Call Center have also been arrested . Sanjeev Chaddha, brother of Sanjay Chaddha also arrested in this case. Akshay, the dealer of SIM is absconding and both the directors of call center Tishu Verma & Rishu Verma are also absconding. All the arrested accused persons have been sent to JC. Further investigation is in progress.

  1. Sanjay Chaddha R/o Virender Nagar, West Delhi, age 45, Supplier of SIMs,studied upto 6th standard,no previous involvement found.
  2. Sanjeev Chaddha R/o Virender Nagar, West Delhi, age 47 ,Supplier of SIMs,studied upto 4th standard, no previous involvement found
  3. Amir Khan R/o Vashishth Park, Delhi, age 28, studied up to 12th standard, operation manager at Just Deal Bazar, no previous involvement found.
  4. Abhishek R/o Vashishth Park, Delhi, age 26, studied up to B.tech, team leader at Just Deal Bazar, no previous involvement found.
  5. Kundan Gupta R/o Balaji Chowk, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, age 25, studied up to 12th standard, team leader at Just Deal Bazar, no previous involvement found
  6. Sandeep Singh R/o Gurudwara, Narayana Vihar, Delhi, age 27, studied up to 12th standard, team leader at Just Deal Bazar, no previous involvement found
  7. Satyan Vijay Rathore R/o Sagarpur, Delhi, age 27, studied up to 12th standard, team leader at Just Deal Bazar, no previous involvement found.
RECOVERY:

  1. 60 pre activated SIM on fake IDs.
  2. 20 walkie talkie.
  3. 11 mobile phones.

A CHRONIC CHEAT AND PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN MORE THAN 13 CASES ARRESTED

The PO Staff of PS Rani Bagh, North West District has arrested one Brij Bhushan Sharma S/O Shri Ghan Shyam Sharma R/O 776/14, Sec-14, Faridabad, Haryana, a chronic cheat and a proclaimed offender (PO) in more than 13 cases on 15.12.2015. The issue of arrest/tracing of POs has always remained top priority of policing. A dedicated team is formed in each police station and is assigned the task of apprehending POs declared by various courts of law.  The progress made is also periodically discussed and monitored by Courts and senior officers in meetings.  DCP/NW had also directed staff to pay special attention to tracing of POs.  As a result the staff of North West District has arrested 176 POs during the current year.   The team consisting of HC Rajesh Rana, No.192/NW, Ct Pawan, No.1398/NW and Ct.
