NOTORIOUS THIEF OPERATING IN DELHI METRO NABBED

• STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED

With the arrest of one desperate thief operating in Delhi Metro namely Sonu Sharma R/o Harijan Basti, Old Kondli, Mayur Vihar Ph-III, Delhi Age- 25 year the Metro Police recovered the stolen property i.e. Purse, cash Rs.1900/-, one Aadhar card, one D/L, and one train ticket of Complainant from his possession.

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION

On 02/08/17 ASI Surendra no. 759/RM and HC Shakti Singh No. 94/RM posted at Police Station Central Secretariat Metro were on patrolling duty from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station to New Delhi Metro Station and they were very alert and vigilant. While on patrolling to check incidents of theft and pick- pocketing in the metro trains. At about 10.30 P.M HC Shakti Singh noticed one person in suspicious condition and running away whom a person was giving a chase by shouting “Catch him-2” at the platform. On seeing the police party, he became perturbed and he tried to escape from that place. But HC Shakti Singh acted very swiftly and he overpowered him with the help of accompanying ASI Surendra after a short chase. They started interrogation to the suspect and the suspect was identified as Sonu Sharma R/o Harijan Basti, Old Kondli, Mayur Vihar Ph-III, Delhi. Meanwhile complainant Sumit Samariya R/o Distt. Dausa, Rajasthan reached the spot and he identified the suspect stating that this person had stolen his purse, cash and other documents while he was boarding on a metro train at Rajeev Chowk Metro Station.

The personal search of accused person was conducted. The stolen purse containing cash 1900/-, Aadhar Card, one D/L and one train ticket was recovered from his  possession.  Statement of complainant Sumit Samariya R/o Distt. Dausa, Rajasthan was recorded in this regard and case vide FIR no. 115/17 dt. 03/08/17 u/s 379/411 IPC Police Station Central Secretariat Metro was registered in this regard and accused was arrested accordingly.

INTERROGATION

Keeping the gravity of the incident the accused was interrogated by a team comprising of ASI Surendra No. 759/RM, HC Shakti Singh No.94/RM, W/Ct Sunita no.495/RM  under the supervision of Insp Rajeev Kumar, SHO INA Metro, Delhi under the close supervision of Sh. R.K. Bhardwaj ACP, Metro/North, under the overall supervision of the undersigned. Sustained interrogation of accused is notorious thief who is operating in Metro train, Railway Stations, Bus stands, crowded market places etc.

1. Sonu Sharma R/o Harijan Basti, Old Kondli, Mayur Vihar Ph-III, Delhi Age- 25 year. He is previously involved in many cases. He is driver of private taxi. He is a smack addict.
