Fugitive criminal Mohd. Aftab @ Kallu of Alisher gang wanted in sensational murder case of PS Bindapur dated 22.01.2017 arrested

  • Fugitive criminal Mohd. Aftab @ Kallu of Alisher gang wanted in sensational murder case of PS Bindapur dated 22.01.2017 arrested by Crime Branch from Swaroop Nagar area.
  • In the intervening night of 21-22.01.2017, the accused along with his brother and associates attacked on rival gambler Raj @ Nag with pistols, swords and iron rods and brutally killed him near DDA Market Bindapur.
  • The accused Aftab @ Kallu was declared Proclaimed Offender in the case.
  • Supremacy in the area was the motive behind crime.


INTRODUCTION
The Crime Branch has arrested a fugitive criminal Mohd. Aftab @ Kallu (aged 27 years) s/o Nayab Khan r/o D-107, JJ Colony, Pocket-IV, Bindapur, Delhi, a member of dreaded Alisher gang of North-West District, who was wanted in the sensational murder case of PS Bindapur dated 22.01.2017 in which in the intervening night of 21/22.01.2017, he along with his 4 associates had killed rival gambler Raju s/o Bhim Singh in order to maintain their supremacy in the area. The arrested accused Mohd. Aftab @ Kallu is a bad character of PS Dabri and was declared Proclaimed Offender in the murder case.
INCIDENT
In the intervening night of 21-22.01.2017, a sensational incident of murder took place near DDA market, JJ Colony, Bindapur, when one Raju s/o Bhim Singh r/o Bindapur, gambler by profession was shot dead by the rival gamblers for supremacy in the area. In the incident the accused persons Aftab, his brother Nawab and their associates Neeraj @ Lambu, Baagdi and others attacked on Raju with pistols, swords and iron rods and brutally killed him, while he was going to his house in the night after closing his office in his Eco-Sports car. This sensational incident was recorded in various CCTVs in the area and had created an atmosphere of terror. On this, a case vide FIR No. 49/17 dated 22.01.2017 u/s 302/34 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Dabri and several teams of local police, Special Staff and Crime Branch were constituted to nab the criminals. During investigation one of the accused Nawab Khan was arrested by Crime Branch in January-2017 who was involved in several cases of attempt to murder, arms act & gambling act etc., while the other accused persons were still absconding.

INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION
ASI Vikrant posted in SWR/Crime Branch, Dwarka received secret information that the accused Aftab @ Kallu who was member of dreaded Alisher gang active in North-West District and wanted in a sensational murder case of PS Bindapur would come near Room Kid Play School, Swaroop Nagar. This information was further developed and a team of Crime Branch led by ACP Jasbir Singh comprising Insp. Sunil Jain, SI Arvind Kumar, ASIs Vikrant, Shreeom, Kuldeep Maan, HCs Gangadhar, Rajeev Sahrawat, Ramkumar and Ct. Mukesh Sehrawat was constituted to nab the criminal. The Crime Branch team laid a trap near expected place of his arrival and the accused was successfully apprehended and arrested under appropriate sections of law.
        
INTERROGATION & DISCLOSURE
Interrogation of the accused revealed that he belongs to lower middle class family residing in Bindapur area and is illiterate. He was previously involved in 6 criminal cases of attempt to murder, burglary and arms act etc. and is bad character of PS Dabri. Presently, the accused along with his brother Nawab and brother-in-law Shahnawaj was running gambling racket in Bindapur area. Their rival Raju @ Naag was also running gambling racket in the area and there was regular tussle between both the groups for supremacy. Raju @ Nag was also a known criminal in the area and was BC of PS Bindapur and was previously involved in several criminal cases.

Elder brother of accused Aftab namely Yamin is presently running in jail for about 4-5 years, where dreaded gangster Alisher is also lodged. The accused Aftab joined Alisher gang through his elder brother and his brother-in-law Shahnawaj who is also acquainted to Alisher in order to maintain supremacy in the area and to pressurize Raju @ Nag. In January-2017, the accused Aftab along with his brother Nawab finally planned to eliminate Raju @ Nag and as per their planning, he along with his brother Nawab Khan and members of Alisher gang who were called by them, attacked on Raju @ Nag with pistols, swords and iron rods and brutally killed him, while he was going to his house in night after closing his office.
During absconding period, the accused Aftab spent most of his time in different temples, visitor rooms of various hospitals in Delhi.  
The concerned authorities have been informed regarding arrest of the accused. Efforts are being made to arrest the absconding accused persons.
