A HI-TECH GANG OF BETTING RACKET BUSTED

  • THREE PERSONS INCLUDING MASTERMIND VINOD  SHARMA HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FROM A FLAT AT ANANAD VIHAR.
  • TOTAL 13 CELLPHONES, 03 LCD & TV, 02 LAPTOPS LOADED  WITH SOPHISTICATED SOFTWARES, INTERNET ROUTERS ETC SEIZED.
  • BETTING WAS OPERATED FOR TAMIL NADU PREIMIURE LEAGUE MATCHES.
A team of Crime Branch, Chanakyapuri has busted a betting racket, who was operating from Anand Vihar area. The matches of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) were on target for betting purpose. A professional Bookie namely Vinod Sharma s/o Jay kishan Sharma r/o A-1, second floor, Ashoka Niketan, Delhi-92 along with his two associates namely VikasChoudhary and Mukesh Agrawal have been arrested while playing betting on Karikudi vs Ruby match of Tamil Nadu Premiere League.
INFORMATION :-
There was an secret  information with ASI Sanjay that one bookie Vinod Sharma is running betting racket in Anand Vihar area. After confirmation of this information a team led by Sub Insp Dheeraj comprising of ASI Sanjay, Surender, Ajit, MukeshTyagi and Ct. lalaram, Jitender, Mnajit and Satpal was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Ritesh and overall supervision of Sh. Sanjay Sehrawat, ACP /ISC/ Crime Branch, Chanakyapuri
OPERATION:-
 On 11-08-17 at about 7:00 pm a raid was conducted at A-4, Ram Vihar, Opp. Anand Vihar Petrol Pump Delhi-92  three person were found  betting  using sophisticated technology inside this house. During raid 13 cell phones, 02 laptops, 03 LCd & TV along with their chargers and other articles have been seized. The betting was made on a match of Karaikudi vs Ruby of Tamil Nadu Premiere League. A total of around Rs 4 Cr transaction was made by them as betting amount. A case FIR No. 135 dt. 11-08-17 u/s 3/4DPG Act P.S. Crime Branch has been registered and investigation taken up.

RECOVERY:-
During raid 13 cell phones, 02 laptops with betting software, 03 (LCD’s +TV), Internet routers, setup boxes, TV remotes etc were seized from the possession of accused persons.

THE CRIMINAL PROFILE AND MODUS OPERANDI:-
Accused Vinod Sharma s/o Jai Kishan Sharma r/o A-1, Second Floor, Ashoka Niketan, Delhi 92 is the master mind of this racket, who is real brother of Mukesh Sharma (Arrested in IPL Match fixing by ED). He is basically un-employed and totally depends on betting/ bookie’s job. The Flat has been running is the name of Sudha Sharma w/o Mukesh Sharma. The other accused i.e Vikas Choudhary  s/o Vijender Singh R/o A -43, New Modern Shahadara, Delhi-32 Age-37 Years and Mukesh Aggarwal s/o Sunil Aggarwal r/o H-6, Naveen Shahadara, Second Floor Delhi 32 Age-34 years are the co-accused/ associates of Vinod Sharma. This racket basically works through online and mobile basis. All voice calls of punters/ customers were recorded automatically in cell phones as well as in laptops too, through recording software. Also they use betting software to maintain their accounts and records. This software exists for one year and the whole data saved automatically. During inspection of their laptops around 4 Crores of betting amount was found maintained. They also used to maintain their customer details in this software. They entered the figure in these software in numeric points form like 1570.08 for showing the less amount and to gain sympathy that they are small bookies, but in actual this amount is 1,57,008 Rs. They also used applications like Greek toys, Crick app, Fancy gate, voice recording etc. in this exercise; they don’t need to connect many phones in one line or with a  single lead and it creates their work become smooth. Apart this, they used to go online websites i.ewww.bet365.com www.betfare.com www.sportsindex.com for checking the rates/ bhaav of matches. These websites are easily available online to assist the bookies.  Basically these online websites help them to check genuine rates of a team or possibilities of winning team. Then, they go for  further operation through these softwares..
