EXTORTION RACKET POSING AS CBI OFFICIALS/ CRIME BRANCH OFFICIALS ARRESTED

  • ABDUCTED PERSONS, GYPSY, SCOOTER & FAKE ID CARD USED IN THE COMMISSION OF OFFENCE RECOVERED.
               With the arrest of accused (1) Mohd  Asif (2) Rizwan (3) Naseem (4) Samsuddin @ Raju (5) Gaurav @ Shahil, team of PS Geeta Colony busted a gang of extortionist posing as CBI officials/Crime Branch officials. Abducted persons were released and Gypsy, scooter & fake ID card used in the commission of offence recovered

INCIDENT
A PCR Call Vide DD No 23A regarding abduction and extortion by Sector 18, Crime Branch officials from Chacha Nehru hospital, was received at PS Geeta Colony. Caller Abid Ali s/o DDA Flats, Sadar Bazar, Delhi met. He verbally informed that he along with his friends Atiq r/o  Kucha Chalan, Dariaganj Delhi and Mohd Shakir r/o Chandni Mahal, Dariaganj, Delhi came to Chacha Nehru Hospital, as his friends were called by the Raju for finalization of a property sale deal. Further they were asked to reach near CNG pump, Pusta road. They were waiting at Pusta Road, at that time suddenly a white colour Gypsy reached there and four persons in the Gypsy posed as CBI/Crime Branch officials forcefully abducted Atiq & Shakir in the Gypsy. Alleged showed them an ID card with CBI encrypted on that. Alleged persons told rape case will be registered against both Atiq & Mohd Shakir and they were to be arrested. Alleged also showed them a complaint. During the period they were taken to Rohini, Pitampura etc places. After threatening them to be arrested, alleged demanded Rs 10 Lacs to settle the case. After bargaining alleged agreed to settled matter at Rs 1 Lac. Victim Mohd. Sakir handed over Rs10K to the alleged and promised to give more Rs 90K. To handover the rest amount Rs 90K, victims told the alleged to go to Daryaganj and later on asked to go to Chacha Nehru Hospital. Victims were constantly in touch with their friend Abid over phone and they informed him about the place where money was to be given. Abid further informed police about the abduction and extortion. After receipt of the information Police Officials ASI Subhash, ASI Rajender, Ct Vineet, Ct Pardeep Lather and other officials reached at the spot.
On seeing the vehicle it was chased but the alleged felt that they were surrounded by police so tried to sped the vehicle but Ct Pardeep Lather blocked the vehicle by putting m/cycle in front of the vehicle. ASI Subhash and Ct. Vinit clinged to the vehicle and forced stop the vehicle.
Alleged later identified as (1) Mohd Asif r/o Indra Vihar Chaman Park Mustafabad age 24 Yrs. (2) Rizwan r/o Rajiv Gandhi Nagar Mustafabad Delhi 94 age 48 Yrs. & (3) Naseem r/o Buagirathi Vihar Phase 2 PS Gokal Puri age 44 Yrs. were apprehended and victims were rescued. Later co-accused (1) Samsuddin @ Raju r/o  Gali No 23 Old Govindpura Delhi and (2) Gaurav @ Shahil r/o Delhi cantt. Narayana Delhi were also apprehended.
Vehicle Gypsy No- DL 2C 5389, forged/fake Identity cards of CBI/Police, extorted amount Rs10K etc. recovered from the possession of accused. On basis of the statement of victim Mohd Sakir case FIR No. 564/17 U/S 365/388/389/120B/170/171/34 was registered at PS Geeta Colony.

INVESTIGATION
During investigation it was revealed that arrested accused Samsudin @ Raja was the main conspirator in the case. He met Co-accused Rizwan and they built friendship. After coming out of the jail, they formed a gang roping in other accused Asif, Gaurav and Naseen. Accused Naseen owns a gypsy, which is used by them in commission of offence.
Accused Samsudin @ Raju came to know that victim Atiq had been arrested in a case, so he conspired to extort him posing as police officials with the threat to implicate him in a rape case. Accused Samsudin lured victim Atiq to come alone on the pretext of a good property deal.
Once Atiq along with his friend Mohd Shakir came for the meeting, they were abducted by the accused to extort them but they were apprehended by the police.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
