SENSATIONAL MURDER OF EDUCATIONIST WORKED OUT

                     With the arrest of one desperate criminal namely Bhupender Mehra @ Hardeep @ Jhota R/O District Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, aged 28 years, a team of Special Staff of Rohini District has worked out a sensational case of murder of a famous Educationist along with one case of extortion and one case of Arms Act.

INCIDENT:

                     On 24.09.2018 at about 2:00 PM, Deepak S/o Sh. Brijesh R/o  Sector-13, Rohini, Delhi, a famous educationist, who is an alumni of IIT Delhi as well as IIM Calcutta and also runs an academy in the name and title of “PRAKHAR” for grooming students for entrance tests of IIT's, NEET and other eminent colleges/institutions was getting his car repaired at RG Complex-2, Prashant Vihar, Delhi. The accused Bhupender Mehra @ Hardeep @ Jhota R/O District Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand who was known to him came and asked for the key of the car. Initially he refused politely but when Bhupinder insisted he rebuked him more firmly. At this the accused slapped Deepak. Within few seconds he brought out a knife with which he stabbed Deepak in stomach and ran away from the spot. After the incident the injured Deepak was rushed to Hospital and on the statement of eyewitness namely Manjeet a case vide FIR No. 464/18, U/s 307 IPC, Prashant Vihar was registered. After few days Deepak succumbed to the injuries during treatment and section 302 IPC was added.

TEAM, INVESTIGATION AND ARREST:

                   A dedicated team of Special Staff Rohini District comprising of SI Sachin Mann, ASI Begraj, HC Shamsher, HC Pharebi Lal and Ct.  was constituted under the guidance of Insp. Ajay Kumar and overall supervision of Sh. Ranbir Singh Khatri ACP/Operations for tracing and arresting accused Bhupender Mehra @ Hardeep @ Jhota.

                  The only and most important hurdle in tracing the accused was that no one knew his whereabouts. In fact no-body was even sure about his real name. It was a filmy character who had spent almost 5/6 years but nobody knew why and from where he came to Delhi. He do not have any house or relative to who police can enquire about him.

                   For locating the accused detailed and exhausting inquiry was conducted from all the possible persons to whom the accused Bhupender Mehra @ Hardeep @ Jhota was known to in Sector-11, Rohini, Sector-16 Rohini, Begumpur, Aman Vihar, Auchandi Border and nearby areas. It came to notice that the accused Bhupender Mehra @ Hardeep @ Jhota first came to Auchandi Border where he used to cook food for the toll staff of Auchandi border. From there he came to Sector-11 Rohini, Delhi where he started working as a cable boy and worked in in  Rohini, and Shalimar Bagh till he was sacked by the cable operator. Exhaustive inquiry was conducted on door to door basis in the above areas for any clue of the accused as none of his known was having any idea of native place of the accused. Further the physical verification drive also increased exponentially as the accused was not in a habit of carrying any mobile device with him and he was not having any mobile number.

                   The hard work of the team started yielding result when it came to notice that though he was not in habit of keeping Mobile with him but he had a facebook account. During one of such inquiries, a photograph of the accused along with one other person was found out and it came to notice that accused told someone years ago that the other person was his relative. With the help of extensive Technical data mining and surveillance, the other person who was seen in the photograph along with the accused was located in the Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand and from there the native village of the accused namely Baliyau was visited where the mother of the accused was found residing alone. It was also found that the accused has not visited his native village for last one year for the fear of getting caught as he was evading his arrest in other case FIR No. 304/17, U/s 382 IPC, PS Prashant Vihar. Raids were conducted in various places in Uttarakhand but no clue could be found. Though no direct result came but one input was received that he might have gone to Rohtak or Jind District Haryana.

                     Though the task was a tedious one but the team worked consistently and was finally able to get one more tip off in which it was disclosed that the accused will visit Delhi on Diwali or soon after Diwali. After getting the tip off the team was put on high alert round the clock. All the persons who might be visited by the accused were being kept under watch. Informers were deployed to get any information. Finally on 10.11.18, HC Shamsher received the information Hardeep @ Jhota would be coming near Japanese Park to meet some friends in order to get some financial help. The team was deployed around Japanese Park and when accused came there he was nabbed and one country made firearm along with 2 live cartridges was recovered from his possession.

INTERRROGATION:

                    During interrogation of accused Bhupender Mehra @ Hardeep @ Jhota R/O District Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, it was revealed that he was fond of driving and liquor. He asked for the keys of car belonging to deceased Deepak on which Deepak plainly refused and accused Bhupender took it as his insult.  In order to take revenge of his insult he slapped Deepak several times. When Deepak didn't budge under his threats as well as his manhandling he brought out a knife and stabbed Deepak and he ran away thereafter. Accused Bhupender stated that after stabbing Deepak he slept in a park in the night and went to his relatives in Uttrakand. When he got the news of Police came searching for him he ran from there to Haryana and kept hiding in various places. Finally he came to Delhi to get some loan from his known ones as he was short of money and wanted to fled to Nepal.

PROFILE:

1. Bhupender Mehra @ Hardeep @ Jhota R/O District Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, aged 28 years, had studied upto 9th Class after which he came to Delhi and started doing odd jobs like cooking etc. After some time he came in contact with cable operators of Sector-11, Rohini, Delhi, and he started residing there. He started threatening people and extorting money from them but people of the area were so afraid of him that they never reported the matter to police. used to pick fight on small issues and became a nuisance for the residents of Sector-11, Rohini.
