These children, all boys, had either run away from their homes or had been abandoned by their guardians and had landed up in Delhi. Most were clueless about their whereabouts and had no idea about their future. They had no place to go. The Crime Branch managed to rescue them before they could fall into the wrong hands. On the occasion of Children’s Day, no gift better than this could have been given to these children and their families.

TEAM & INCIDENT:-

Sh. Surender Gulia, ACP AHTU and his team comprising of Insp Mahesh Pandey, ASI Birender, ASI Naresh Kumar, HC Naveen Pandey and HC Praphull Joshi along with representatives of Sathi, NGO worked tirelessly to round up these lost children. Most of the children had little information to give about their homes. Some children were residents of far-away places in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Each child had a different story to tell. Some had been abandoned while others had left home after a scolding from their family members. Most children had boarded a train without ticket and had reached Railway Stations in Delhi by default. All children belonged to the economically backward strata of society and almost all were school dropouts.

Between 1st November, 2018 and 14th November, 2018, thirty one such children had been rescued by the Crime Branch working with Sathi, NGO. Efforts bore fruit and in 17 out of 31 cases, the Crime Branch was able to locate the family members of the children.

Some parents and family members of these children also shared their struggle and distress after their child went missing.

All representatives of Sathi, NGO were felicitated and a small gift and a letter of appreciation were given to each of them.
