Dreaded gangster Pushpender Singh arrested after shootout

Wanted in a sensational Cash Van robbery of Rs. 39 Lacs in New Ashok Nagar, Delhi at gunpoint
He was absconding in 8 more cases.
One semi automatic 7.65 MM pistol along with one empty and four live cartridges and one robbed motorcycle recovered

A team of Special Cell led by Inspectors Shiv Kumar and Mukesh Kumar Singh led by ACP Attar Singh has arrested one of most-wanted gangster Pushpender Singh after a brief encounter near Kondli Pulia towards Dharamshila hospital on 25.01.18. One 7.65 mm semi-automatic pistol along with one empty and four live cartridges and a robbed Apache motorcycle have been recovered from the accused. Pushpender Singh was absconding wanted in a daylight armed cash-van robbery/dacoity of Rs. 39 Lacs in East District of Delhi registered vide FIR No. 678/17 u/s 392/395/397/120B/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act, PS New Ashok Nagar, Delhi.
Incident:
On 13.11.17, at around 11:30 AM, a sensational robbery took place in the area of PS New Ashok Nagar, Delhi. The facts of the case are that complainant Shri Mahesh was carrying a cash of Rs. 39 Lacs from Vasundhara, Ghaziabad alongwith one driver and one gunman, for depositing it in Corporation Bank situated at Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi. As they reached Corporation Bank, two robbers riding on a motorcycle came and tried to snatch the bag containing cash Rs. 39 lacs.
When Mahesh resisted, desperados fired upon him. Gunman of the cash van also fired towards robbers but both motorcycle borne robbers managed to escape from the spot after robbing entire cash. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 678/17 u/s 392/395/397/120B/34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS New Ashok Nagar, Delhi. Total eight members of this gang were found involved in this sensational robbery out of which two were found murdered later on. Since then, Pushpender Singh, who is the mastermind of this robbery and kingpin of said gang, was absconding.
Operation:
Sensing the gravity of the case, the Special Cell took up the challenge to locate and arrest Pushpender Singh as he was the leader of the said gang of robbers. Sources were deployed in and around Delhi and technical surveillance was mounted. However, the smart gangster, already involved and absconding in 8 cases of murder, dacoity, robbery and Arms Act, changing his hideouts regularly. Persistence of the team paid fruit when on 25.01.2018, a specific information was received that gangster Pushpender Singh would be coming near Dharamshila Hospital, Delhi on an Apache motorcycle at midnight, for meeting an associate. Without losing time, a trap was laid at and around Dharamshila Hospital. As informed, a person was noticed riding an Apache motorcycle. The suspect waited behind Dharamshila hospital for some time. The positioned police teams used their vehicle to block the road and thus compelled the gangster to stop from moving ahead. He was warned to surrender after disclosing identity of police but in a flash, the dreaded gangster took out a pistol and opened fire targeting the police. The police party moved swiftly to cordon and overpower the armed criminal. Pushpender Singh was cornered and apprehended. One semi automatic sophisticated 7.65 MM pistol along with one empty and 4 live cartridges was recovered from him. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 10/18 u/s 186/353/307 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act has been registered at PS Special Cell, New Delhi. Recovered Apache motorcycle has been found to be robbed from the area of PS Auchandi, Distt. Meerut, UP.
Interrogation:
During preliminary interrogation, accused Pushpender Singh has disclosed that in the year of 2013, he met one Zarib who is an active robber and started committing crime with him. He was arrested in the area of PS Bamor, Distt. Morena, Madhya Pradesh when he alongwith his 2 associates, attempted to rob Rs. 1.5 lacs and gold from one goldsmith on the gunpoint but he along two others was apprehended. After having been released on bail from jail after 3 months, he along with his associates committed a number of robberies. The murder of Neeraj, his own associate was one of such several crimes committed in this period. He shot dead Neeraj on dispute of distribution of booty.
PROFILE
Pushpender Singh was born on 1st January in the year 1990 Village Bahadurgarh, Distt. Hapur, UP. His father was a farmer having small piece of agricultural land. He left his studies when he failed in 10th standard. In the year 2005, he started working as driver on tractor in the area of Hapur city. In the year of 2013 he purchased one Honda city taxi. During this period he came in contact with one criminal Zabir and Pushpender got into the world of crime. He is previously involved in 8 cases of murder, robbery, dacoity and Arms Act.

In the year 2016, he along with his associates namely Robin and Ankur, murdered his associate Neeraj. He is a gang leader of robbers consisting 10/12 associates based in Meerut, UP and they are actively involved in commission of robberies in Delhi and adjoining States.
He was not attending courts in the below mentioned cases.
