International narcotic drug cartel busted

• Notorious Nigerian national, drug supplier alongwith two Punjab based drug peddlers arrested.  
• Nigerian national supplier was using a fake passport/visa.
• 05 kgs of high grade heroin worth more than Rs. 20 crores in International market recovered.
• Many mobile handsets/SIM Cards used in drug trafficking recovered.

A team of Special Cell/Northern Range, led by Inspr. Attar Singh and Inspr. Jeetendra Tiwari under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has busted an International drug cartel. Three key members of said cartel namely (1) Jaswant Singh @ Sonu, aged 30 years, (2) Charanjit Singh @ Jeeta, aged 27 years both r/o Distt. Kapurthala, Punjab and (3) Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze, aged 37 years, a Nigerian National presently residing in Hastsal Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi have been arrested. 05 kgs of high grade heroin worth more than Rs. 20 crores in the International market have been recovered from the possession of these drug suppliers. Six mobile handsets with various SIM cards used in the drug trafficking activities have also been recovered.

Development of Information

Special Cell in its continuous crusade against drug suppliers had busted many narcotic drug cartels in the current year by arresting several drug suppliers and by recovering huge consignments of high grade heroin. Team of Insp. Attar Singh has busted 09 drug cartels this year and recovered more than 40 kgs of high grade heroin. Sleuths of Special Cell of Northern Range had information that many Punjab based drug dealers are procuring heroin from Delhi based African origin persons. This information was further developed by SI Praveen Rathee and team members through technical and human surveillance. After 03 months painstaking efforts some of the members of this cartel were identified.

Operation  

On 01/09/2017, a specific information was received that two Punjab based members of this cartel namely Jaswant Singh @ Sonu and Charanjit Singh @ Jeeta would come near Shiv Mandir, Hastsal, Uttam Nagar, Delhi to receive a big consignment of heroin from an African origin person. A team was deployed in the area and sharp vigil was kept at the rendezvous. On 02/09/2017 at about 01:00 AM, Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze, a Nigerian national and supplier of heroin handed over two packets of heroin to Sonu and Jeeta i.e. one packet to each. Police team surrounded and overpowered the trio. 02 kgs heroin was recovered from Jaswant Singh @ Sonu and 01 kg heroin from Charanjit Singh @ Jeeta. Another 02 kgs heroin was recovered from the Nigerian National. A case under appropriate sections of law has been registered at PS Special Cell.

During the search of rented accommodation of Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze, a fake passport of Seirra Leone having multiple fake visa stickers of India was recovered. Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze used this passport for getting house on rent and rooms in hotels.  

Interrogation

Initially Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze revealed his name as Rowland a Sierra Leone National. On sustained interrogation he revealed his real identity that he actually belongs to Nigeria. He also told that he had come to India in the year 2008 on a business visa for 06 months. But even after expiry of visa, he continued his illegal stay in India. He came into contact with a fellow Nigerian namely Michael who lured him to work with him to supply illegal drugs for quick money. Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze initially worked as carrier of heroin for him. Slowly he developed his own network of drugs trafficking. For last 05 years he has been independently indulging in drugs supplying in Delhi and Punjab. Various Punjab based drug peddlers used to come to his rented house in Uttam Nagar to procure consignments of heroin. Apart from this, Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze was also indulging in sending consignments of heroin to various countries like England, France, Canada, South Africa etc through courier companies.

Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze further revealed that he procures heroin from Afghan Nationals. He also disclosed that these Afghan Nationals visit India by Air and bring heroin in Delhi by several means including swallowing heroin filled capsules. In the recent past, few instances of busting of capsule in stomach of these Afghan Nationals have come to light in Delhi. It is suspected that both the arrested Punjab drug dealers have been procuring heroin from Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze for last about 02 years. Both further supply heroin to small drug peddlers in Punjab.    

   

Profile of accused persons:

Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze hails from Nigeria. He came in India in the year 2008 on a valid business visa. But he did not return to his country. He threw away his original Nigerian passport. He procured a fake passport of Sierra Leone through one Kenyan National namely Frencis. Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze is a graduate. He He was lured by one Michael, a fellow Nigerian drug supplier to work as his carrier for transporting heroin. For last five years, Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze is independently running his own network of drug supply in Delhi by supplying heroin to Delhi & Punjab drug peddlers.

Jaswant Singh @ Sonu is resident of Distt. Kapurthala, Punjab. He is matriculate and belongs to a poor family He was lured by one Baljeet to step in drug supplying. Baljeet introduced him to Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze in Delhi. Jaswant Singh has been indulging in the trade of drug trafficking for last 10 years. Earlier he used to procure heroin from other Delhi based African nationals. Now, he has been procuring heroin from Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze and further supplies to various small drug peddlers in Punjab.

Charanjeet Singh @ Jeeta is also resident of village Latiawal, PS Sultanpur Lodhi, Distt. Kapurthala, Punjab. He is a school dropout. He belongs to a poor family. He himself is  a drug addict since last six years. Due to this addiction, he started working with Jaswant Singh in drug supply for last 02 years. He used to accompany Jaswant Singh to Delhi. Both used to get heroin from Dsitadimma Casmir Arinze and supplied in Punjab. He used to charge Rs. 25,000/- from Jaswant Singh per trip to Delhi in this regard.
