GANG OF THIEVES BUSTED AT NEW DELHI RAILWAY STATION

  • THEY USE TO CARRY A CHILD WITH THEM TO AVOID SUSPICION.

With the arrest of a two female thieves the staff of PS New Delhi Railway Station has busted a gang of thieves and worked out a case of theft within 24 hours of commission.  The victim is an NRI who was coming from United States and was on the way to his home in Ahmadabad.   The details of arrested ladies are (i) Pooja r/o Delhi, aged 30 yrs., and (ii) Rukmani r/o Delhi, aged 25 yrs.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:-
On 8.9.2017, one Sh. Balji Bagda r/o Ahmedabad City, Gujarat came to police station New Delhi Railway Station and stated that he was getting down on foot over bridge towards platform No. 1 waiting hall New Delhi Railway Station, someone had stolen his small black colored purse containing his passport, US green card, US credit card, US social security card, $ 5000/-(approx.), Rs. 50000-60000/- and other cards, kept inside his backpack.  On his statement a case FIR No. 674/2017 dt. 8.9.17 u/s-379 IPC was registered at PS New Delhi Railway Station and investigation was taken up.
During course of investigation, a team comprising of the Inspr. Akash Rawat SHO/PS New Delhi Railway Station, ASI Pramod Kumar, Ct. Satyajit No. 724, W/Ct. Sonu No. 915/RM and other staff under the supervision of the undersigned was formed immediately.  All the CCTV cameras installed at New Delhi Railway Station were scrutinized and search for the culprits was made in full swing.  Raids were conducted at several places and finally two women were apprehended near Minto Bridge, New Delhi.  On questening, both were identified as (i) Pooja r/o Delhi, aged 30 yrs., and (ii) Rukmani r/o Delhi, aged 25 yrs.  Both of them were carrying their baby with them.  Initially they denied of having any knowledge about the incident, but after sustained interrogation and showing them the CCTV footage, they broke down and admitted theircrime.  Thereafter, the stolen purse the passport, US green card, US credit card, US social security card, $ 2379 and Rs. 10,000/- were recovered from them.  Consequently, both were arrested in this case.  On further interrogation it was revealed that accused Pooja was arrested previously also in a theft case FIR No. 57/2017 u/s 379/511 IPC PS New Delhi Railway Station.

Both the accused also revealed that they are cousins. They were facing hardship in meeting the basic needs so Pooja started pick pocketing.  After some time, Rukmani also joined. They used to operate at crowded place such as Railway Stations as there are minimal chances of being caught due to floating crowd.  They also carried their babies as well to avoid suspicion. On 8.9.17 also, they came to New Delhi Railway Station for committing the theft and after committing the crime, they went to their respective homes. Today, when they were at Minto Bridge area, they were caught by police.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
