FORTY BOXES OF ILLICIT LIQUOR SMUGGLED INTO DELHI FROM HARYANA HAS BEEN RECOVERED FROM A LADY BOOTLEGGER BY THE STAFF OF AATS/DWARKA DISTT., DELHI
  • A SYNDICATE INVOLVED IN ILLEGALLY SUPPLYING AND SALE OF ILLICIT LIQUOR IN DELHI HAS BEEN BUSTED WITH THE ARREST OF A LADY BOOTLEGGER BY THE STAFF OF AATS/DWD.
  • FORTY BOXES (1940 QUARTERS) OF ILLICIT LIQUOR WERE HIDDEN IN A SECRET HOLLOW ROOF STRUCTURE OF THE HOUSE OF ACCUSED (NAME WITHHELD) IN DABRI AREA.   
  • ACCUSED (NAME WITHHELD) HAS PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT IN BOOTLEGGING CASES AND HAS BEEN ARRESTED EARLIER TOO.  
INTRODUCTION
A strict watch by police to curb use of liquor in ongoing political activity in the capital resulted in the arrest of a liquor supplier (name withheld) R/O Mahavir Enclave Part-II, Dabri, Delhi, Age-32 years, by the sleuths of AATS, Dwarka District. With her arrest a syndicate involved in supply and sale of illicit liquor in areas of Delhi. Forty boxes (1940Quarters) of illicit liquor smuggled into Delhi from the neighbouring state of Haryanaby the syndicate have been seized by the police from the secret hideout built in the house of accused (name withheld) for storing liquor boxes.


The smuggled illegal liquor boxes were hidden in hollow space between two layers of roof of the house of accused. The secret hideout was built in the house to outsmart the police from locating the smuggled liquor. Accused has been arrested earlier also for similar offence but was released on bail. However, immediately after her release on bail she resumed the activity of supplying and selling illegal liquor to small bootleggers of the area.

TEAM & OPERATION:
To curb street crimes and to enhance the sense of security among citizens in DwarkaDistrict, extensive patrolling covering widespread areas are being carried out round the clock by various police units on the direction ofDCP/DwarkaDistrict.


On the early morning of 24.04.19, Inspr. Raj Kumar, in-charge AATS/Dwarka Districtdirectedthe staff,comprising of SI RoshanLal, ASI Vinod Kumar, ASI Randhir, HC Dharmendra, Ct Amit, Ct Vinod and W/Ct to carry out patrolling in the district. As they were carrying out patrolling in the area, they saw a lady quickly shifting liquor boxes inside her house located at Mahavir Enclave Part-II, Dabri, Delhi. On noticing police, she tried toslip away but was overpowered by the police staff.


On enquiry her name and address was revealed (name withheld) R/O Mahavir Enclave Part-II, Dabri, Delhi, Age-32 years.Her house was checked and total 40 boxes of illicit liquor were found concealed in a secret hide out built between two layers of dummy roof of the house. A case FIR No. 286/19 dated 24.04.19 u/s 33/38 Delhi Excise Act was registered at P.S. Dabri. Accused (name withheld) was interrogated and later arrested in the case.Accused was produced in court on 25.07.18 and sent to Judicial Custody.

  1. (Name withheld) R/O Mahavir Enclave Part-II, Dabri, Delhi, Age-32 years.
RECOVERY 
  • Forty boxes of illicit liquor containing 1940 Quarters.


Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest suppliers of illict liquor and to affect more recoveries.
