Inter State Module of Arms Supply busted

  • 10 country made pistols and 15 cartridges  recovered
  • One arms supplier arrested

A team of Interstate Cell, Crime Branch, Chanakyapuri has busted an interstate gang involved in supplying illegal arms and ammunition from Uttar Pradesh in Delhi/NCR.  One person has been arrested. 10 country made pistols and 15 cartridges have been recovered from him. This gang was operating since last couple of years and was supplying illegal weapons to various gangsters/criminals of Delhi/NCR.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION:-

During recent past, incidents of firing have taken place in Delhi/NCR, in which illegal weapons were used by the criminals/gangsters.  During analysis of these cases, it was found that the illegal fire arms being used were being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh into Delhi/NCR by several gangs. A dedicated team of ISC, Crime Branch was put on the task to collect the details about these criminals. It was found that a gang involving Mohabat Ali, Mulla Raees and others were actively involved in the gun running business. A careful study regarding the Modus Operandi of this gang was carried out and surveillance was mounted over the suspected persons.  
On 14/10/2018, specific information was received that Mohabat Ali would be coming near Railway Bridge, Bhairon Marg, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi to deliver the consignment of illegal weapons to a local conduit of a gangster. Accordingly, a team led by Insp. Neeraj Chaudhary comprising of SIs Manoj, Surender Rana, ASIs Sanjeev, Jai Parkash, Sukender, Yatander Malik, and Ct Naveen under the close supervision of ACP Sh. Jasbir Singh was constituted and a trap was laid at the spot. At about 5.15 PM, Mohabat Ali R/o Mujaffar Nagar, UP was apprehended and 02 country made pistols .315 bore and 02 cartridges were recovered from his possession. A case under the appropriate section of law was registered at PS-Crime Branch. During investigation after taking Police Custody of accused, 8 more country made pistols .315 bore and 13 cartridges have been recovered from his hideout at Meerut, UP

INTERROGATION :-

Duirng interrogation, he disclosed that a gang headed by Mulla Raees was involved in this illegal weapons trade since last couple of years and is supplying illegal weapons to various persons including the gangsters of the region. To escape the police dragnet the gang members take due precautions while communicating with each other over mobile phones. They often use pre decided code words for deciding type of weapon, number of rounds and place of delivery. ‘Pen’ is used for 9 mm (bada pen) and 7.65 mm (chota pen) pistols while ‘pencil’ is used for .315 bore pistols. The word ‘sikka’ is used to denote rounds.

PROFILE

Mohabat Ali is illiterate. He met Mulla Raes about 3 years ago. He has been smuggling weapons since the past 2 years. He has 5 criminal cases registered against him including Arms Act and UP Gangster Act at PS. Sadar, Muzaffar Nagar, UP.


Efforts are being made to apprehend Mulla Raees. Further investigation in the case is on.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru.
