Aiming to combat and prevent crime against women like molestation, eve-teasing and make public places safer for women, West Distt. has started a special officer oriented patrolling under the leadership of DCP West Ms. Monika Bhardwaj IPS along with Addl. DCP Sh. Sameer Sharma IPS, all ACsP  & SHOs of West District, Women SIs, ASI, HC and Cts with district bike patrolling squads in those areas of West District which have high female footfall or prone to street crime.

Motive
The main motive of the initiative was to instill greater sense of security in the girls and women moving on road and at public place and to motivate policewomen by making the system more inclusive for them and putting them in the forefront of field policing. All in all, it is an effort to provide additional safeguards to women in West Delhi. It will put a check on the anti-social elements. Officer oriented patrolling will further ensure a decrease in street crime.

Interaction

During Patrolling DCP West interacted with the public at Pacific Mall, TC Camp Shyam Nagar Jhuggi clusters & Tilak Nagar main market and listened to their grievances and even petty issues were also sorted out at the spot. Women were apprised about the Women safety, Himmat plus App, Parivartan , Ab Nahi hai Darna and other initiatives of Delhi Police. Public was apprised of traffic rules and traffic violators were prosecuted

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas.
