IPL GAMBLING RACKET BUSTED BY SHAHDARA DISTRICT POLICE

  • 03 PERSONS ARRESTED AND SEIZED 11 MOBILE PHONES, 01 LED TV, 01 LAPTOP AND 01 SET TOP BOX.
With the arrest of three persons namely 1. Nikhil Goyal 2. Dheeraj and 3. Shekhar Gandhi Staff of Police Station Shahdara, busted IPL gambling racket in the area and recovered of 11 mobile phones, 01 LED TV, 1 Laptop and 01 Set Top Box etc.

INCIDENT:-
       
On 14/04/2018, a secret information regarding Gambling at Subhash Park, Shahdara, Delhi was received at Police Station Shahdara. Immediately, a team was constituted comprising SI Kaushik Ghosh, W.HC. Manju, Ct. Pintoo, Ct. Sanjiv under the supervision of Inspr. Youdhbir Singh (SHO/Shahdara). A raid was conducted at Subhash Park, Shahdara, Delhi. 03 Persons apprehended from there who were betting online ‘Satta’ on the cricket Match of IPL between Mumbai Indians Vs Delhi Dare Devil's match. During enquiry, they were identified as 1. Nikhil Goyal R/o West Gorakh Park, Shahdara, Delhi, 2. Dheeraj R/o Durga Puri, Shahdara, Delhi and 3. Shekhar Gandhi R/o Subash Park, Shahdara, Delhi. In this regard, a case FIR No. 118/18 u/s 3/4/5 Gambling Act was registered at Police Station Shahdara, Delhi.

INTERROGATION & CONFESSION:-
On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that accused Shekhar Gandhi was the master mind of the Satta. He disclosed that the place i.e. Subhash Park, Shahdara, Delhi, where they play Satta belongs to his relative. All three accused confessed that they all came to put bet on the IPL match with the help of Betting Assistant Application.

  1. Dheeraj R/o Durga Puri, Shahdara, Delhi. Age-29 Years. He has studied upto 12th Class.

  1. Shekhar Gandhi R/o Subash Park, Shahdara, Delhi. Age-29 Years. He has studied upto 12th Class. He is previously involved in 5 cases of Theft and snatching.

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
