Interstate illegal arms syndicate busted.

  • Notorious arms supplier Khazan Singh of Mathura, arrested.
  • Huge cache of 17 sophisticated pistols alongwith 10 spare magazines recovered.
A team of Special Cell, Southern Range led by Inspr. Shiv Kumar, under the supervision of Attar Singh, ACP has busted an interstate gun running racket by arresting a notorious arms supplier namely Khazan Singh aged 42 years r/o Mathura, UP. Fifteen (15) sophisticated pistols and two Revolvers, total 17 illegal sophisticated arms alongwith 10 spare magazines have been recovered from his possession at the time of his arrest near Ashram Chowk, Delhi on 25.03.18.
In pursuit of constant drive launched by Special Cell against illegal arms suppliers in Delhi from different parts of the country including Khargone, Burhanpur (MP) and Munger (Bihar), concerted efforts were kept continued. Special Cell had succeeded in busting several similar interstate arm syndicates in the past. Special Cell has recovered more than 600 sophisticated illegal arms during last one year by arresting a number of notorious arms suppliers from MP, UP and Bihar. Members of these syndicates were indulging in supplying arms and ammunition in Delhi.
Operation
Sleuths of Special Cell, Southern Range were having information about illegal activities of arms syndicate led by Khazan Singh of Mathura, UP. Manual surveillance was mounted to develop information about Khazan Singh and members of this syndicate. Teams were sent to Burhanpur, Sendhwa, Khargone and Khandwa (MP) to track the movements of members of this syndicate. Secret sources were deployed to gather more useful information in this regard.
After painstaking efforts of more than two months, a specific information was received on 25.03.18 by Inspr. Shiv Kumar that Khazan Singh who used to procure illegal arms from Khandwa, MP and further supply to Delhi, Haryana and UP has received a big consignment of pistols. He was on his way to Delhi to deliver this consignment of weapons to criminals in Delhi and Western UP. Informer further told that Khazan Singh has fixed rendezvous near Nafed building, Ashram Chowk, Delhi between 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.    
Accordingly, a team led by Inspr. Shiv Kumar laid a trap at Ashram Chowk, Delhi. At about 4 PM, a suspicious person was spotted coming from Ashram Chowk side towards DND flyway. Police team swooped in and arrested him and 17 sophisticated illegal weapons alongwith 10 spare magazines were recovered. A case under appropriate sections of law has been registered at PS Special Cell, Delhi.
Khazan Singh was subjected to sustained interrogation wherein he disclosed that he used to receive supply of pistols from a person who is resident of Village Distt. Khandwa, MP. Khazan Singh further told that said person was engaged in manufacturing of illegal weapons in Signur of Khandwa,  MP and further supplying in Delhi and adjoining states. Khazan Singh further disclosed that he came in contact with said arms manufacturer through a person who is resident of his nearby village in Mathura, UP, and also a notorious name in the field of illegal arms. Khazan Singh met him when Khazan was in the jail in a murder case. After coming out from jail on bail, he started working as carrier of illegal arms from Madhya Pradesh to Delhi, UP and Haryana for that person. In the year 2016, when his associate was arrested, he started his own illegal trade of purchasing and selling illegal arms. During last two years he had supplied more than 700 pistols to various criminals of above States including Delhi. Khazan Singh further revealed that he purchase a pistol for Rs. 10,000/- from suppliers of MP. He used to further sell these pistols to various persons including criminals for a amount ranging from Rs. 20,000/- to 25,000/- per pistol.
Khazan Singh started his criminal career about 25 years ago. For the first time in 1993, he was arrested in a case of assault. Thereafter, he started indulging in smuggling of illegal weapons in Delhi from Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. In the year 1997, he was arrested in a case of arms smuggling. He is History sheeter of PS Surir, Mathura, UP. He has been previously found arrested in 12 criminal cases including of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, assault, hurt, arms act, gunda act  etc.

 Khazan Singh hails from a middle class family. His father was a farmer having 20 Bigha agricultural land in their native village. After his schooling upto 12th, Khazan started helping his father in the farming. Then he fell in bad company and joined illegal arms trade. He is unmarried.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp.
