EIGHT ACCUSED OF INTERSTATE GANG INVOLVED IN SELLING STOLEN MOBILE PHONES AFTER ERASING IMEI NUMBERS BUSTED

  • RECOVERED  735 EXPENSIVE  MOBILE PHONES  WORTH AROUND  RUPEES ONE CRORE AND THIRTY LAKHS (Rs. 1,30,00,000).
  • THREE STOLEN CARS AND EQUIPMENT USED IN CHANGING IMEI  ALSO RECOVERED.
                  With the arrest of eight accused persons namely 1. Shakil Ahmad @ Saeed S/o Khursheed, 2. Aslam S/o Ashraf, 3. Rinku S/o Hukum Chand, 4. Gaurav Mittal S/o Gulshan Kumar, 5. Rajender Aggarwal S/o Anand Kumar, 6. Gaurav Kumar S/o Sh. Ashok Kumar 7. Khalid S/o Maqsood and 8. Irfan S/o Kamluddin, the staff of P.S. Okhla busted an interstate gang of persons involved in selling stolen mobile phones after erasing IMEI numbers and recovered 735 stolen costly smart mobile phones, 3 stolen cars and equipments/accessories used in flashing and erasing IMEI of mobile phones from them.

INCIDENT:
                      On  21.02.17,  HC  Ashok of PS OIA received a secret information that three persons  who belong to Mewat (Rajasthan) are coming to Delhi  in a stolen WagonR car to receive  stolen mobile phones. On receipt of the said information, a dedicated team consisting of SI Rakesh Sharma, SI Chandan, SI Anuj ,SI Lokendra, ASI Virender, ASI Hukam Chand ,HC Ashok, HC Satish HC Narender Malik, Ct Rahul, Ct. Ravinder, Ct. Kawaldeep, Ct. Ravi, Ct Navtej and Ct. Narender  was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Atul Kumar, SHO/Okhla and overall supervision of ACP Kalkaji Shri Amit Goel. On the basis of said information, a trap was laid near Under Pass at Okhla Indl. Area and  three accused persons namely Shakil Ahmed @ Saeed, Aslam and Rinku were arrested and a stolen Wagon R car and 18 smart mobile phones were recovered.  
INTERROGATION AND MODUS OPRENDI:
          During sustained interrogation, the accused persons disclosed that Aslam, Shakeel and Rinku used to take stolen mobile phone from one Qayyum who is a  resident of Jurhera, Rajasthan and runs a mobile shop there.  Qayyum used to take stolen mobile phones from one Kallu and Gaurav Mittal who have  mobile shops in Delhi. During further investigation  later Gaurav Mittal was arrested from his shop at Sitaram bazar, Old Delhi along with his partner  namely Rajendra Agrawal. 520 branded smart mobile phones were recovered from the both accused persons. During interrogation, accused Gaurav Mittal disclosed that he  used to change IMEI numbers of mobile phone from Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh with the help of one shopkeeper/engineer namely Gaurav Kumar and also used to flash the mobile phones for cracking password FRP ( Pattern lock) for opening and resetting the mobile phones to bring them back into the working condition/usable mode. Thereafter, Gaurav Mittal  used to sell  refreshed mobile phones to various receivers/dealers in Mewat, Punjab, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.
    Gaurav Kumar used to erase IMEI of Android Phones through shopkeepers in Mewat and Punjab. He charges Rs.200-300/- per phone for IMEI change and Rs.50/- for flashing and unlocking pattern lock per mobile phone. Shopkeepers from Mewat and Punjab used to get IMEI change from him and then sold at their places. One Khalid and Irfan who ran a shop at Nuh (Mewat), Haryana were arrested from the shop of Gaurav where they came  for changing the IMEI of stolen phones. 70 branded stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession.    
     Gaurav Mittal received stolen mobile phones from various gangs  of pick-pocketers like Amiruddin Gang, Kallu Gang etc.  which are active in various parts of Delhi. Amiruddin and Kallu are yet to be arrested.
 


PROFILE OF ARRESTED PERSONS:-

1. Shakil Ahmad @ Saeed S/o Khursheed R/o Village-Jurhera, Tehsil-Kama, Distt. Bharatpur, Rajasthan Age-32 Years is purchaser of stolen mobile phones from Kallu and Gaurav Mittal. He runs a mobile repairing shop at Jurhera (Rajasthan).
2. Aslam S/o Ashraf R/o Village- Satpura, Tehsil-Pahari, Distt.   Bharatpur, Rajasthan, Age-36 Years is purchaser of stolen mobile phone and partner of Shakil in his shop.

3. Rinku S/o Hukum Chand R/o 202, Main Mathuira Raod, Subhash Camp, Near NTPC, Badarpur, New Delhi, Age-22 Years  resides in Badarpur, Delhi and is a pick-pocketer. He used to sell stolen mobile phones to Kallu

4. Gaurav Mittal S/o Gulshan Kumar R/o H.No. 2102, Gali Kucha, Akil Khan, Bazar Sitaram, Old Delhi  is a permanent resident of Old Delhi and runs a shop at Sitaram Bazar with Rajender Aggarwal. He  purchases  stolen mobile phones from various gang of pick-pocketiers  and further  sell them to various shopkeepers/ dealers in Mewat and Punjab after erasing their IMEIs.

5. Rajender Aggarwal S/o Anand Kumar R/o H.No. 2192, Gali Kucha, Akil Khan, Bazar Sitaram, Old Delhi. He is a permanent resident of Old Delhi and partner of Gaurav Mittal.  
6. Gaurav Kumar S/o Sh. Ashok Kumar R/o Sitaram Colony, Ward No. 5, Smalkha, Paniapt (HR). He is a resident of Haryana  and runs a shop of Mobile Flashing and Software  at Gaffar Market, Karol Bagh, Delhi and is an engineer who used to change the IMEIs of stolen mobile phones.

7. Khalid S/o Maqsood R/o H.No. 42,Near Bus Stand, Ward No. 7, Nuh (Mewat, Haryana  Age 27 Yrs. He is a resident of Mewat and runs a shop of mobile repairing  at Nuh Mewat.  
8. Irfan S/o Kamluddin R/o Vill. Chandeli, Ps Nuh, Distt-Mewat, HR Age 28. He is a permanent resident of mewat and Partner of Khalid in his mobile repairing shop at Nuh Mewat, Haryana.
RECOVERY:
1.735 costly and branded stolen smart phones, worth Rs.1.3 crore  
2. One stolen Honda City Car
3. One stolen Santro car
4. One Stolen Wagon R car  
5. 2 CPU
6. 2 hard Disk 2 TB each

7. Software and accessories for flashing and changing IMEI of mobile phones.

A CHRONIC CHEAT AND PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN MORE THAN 13 CASES ARRESTED

The PO Staff of PS Rani Bagh, North West District has arrested one Brij Bhushan Sharma S/O Shri Ghan Shyam Sharma R/O 776/14, Sec-14, Faridabad, Haryana, a chronic cheat and a proclaimed offender (PO) in more than 13 cases on 15.12.2015. The issue of arrest/tracing of POs has always remained top priority of policing.
