Sensational house robbery case solved : 3 accused arrested

• Robbed cash Rs. 12.35 lacs, gold chain and expensive mobile phone (make Samsung) purchased from the robbed cash and car used in commission of crime recovered.

With the arrest of three accused namely Bijender Singh @ Tau, aged 52 years S/o Kehar Singh R/o H. No. C-787, Village Ladpur, Delhi, Samir Chug, aged 41 years S/o Harbans Lal Chug R/o H. No. E-2, 1st Floor, Chattarpur Extension, Delhi and Dinesh Kumar @ Karan, aged 30 years S/o Brijpal Singh R/o H. No. 120, Gali No. 2, Shivpuri, Meethapur, New Delhi, the team of STF, South District has solved sensational house robbery in which Rs. 45 Lacs cash, gold jewelry and property papers were robbed from a property dealer on 21.10.16 in Chattarpur Extension, in the area of PS Mehrauli.  With the arrest of accused persons, robbed cash Rs. 12.35 lacs, gold chain, expensive mobile phone (make Samsung) purchased from the robbed cash and car used in commission of crime recovered.

Brief facts :

On 21.10.16, Sh. Pawan Sharma r/o H. No. B 5/2, Chattarpur Extension, Delhi reported that he is engaged in the property business.  A few days back, one person who introduced himself as S.K. Sawaria from Faridabad approached him to purchase property in Chhattarpur.  He showed him 2/3 properties in Chhattarpur including his own house i.e. H. No. B 5/2, Chhattarpur Extension, New Delhi.  The above person showed interest to purchase his house and after some telephonic conversation, on 21.10.16 at about 02:45 PM, S.K. Sawaria along with two other persons came to his house to finalize the deal of his house.  His wife served them tea and in the mean time, they also called one more person on the pretext of showing the house.  The complainant showed the property documents to them and when he was taking back his property documents, one of them sprayed something on him and his wife which led coughing and irritation in their eyes.  At the same time, they tied the complainant and his wife with rope and bed sheet and at the point of katta and knife, looted the cash Rs 45 lacs, jewelry and property documents from the house and also threatened that if they will inform the police, they will destroy the property documents and otherwise after some days they will courier it.  Afterwards, they somehow managed to escape from the bondage and called the police.  A case vide FIR No.  1635/16 /s 394/506/34 IPC & 27 Arms Act was registered at PS Mehrauli and investigation taken up. Initially the investigation of the case was carried out by PS Mehrauli but later the case was transferred to Special Task Force, South District.  

Investigation :

In order to arrest the culprits and to recover the robbed property, a police team consisting of Inspr. Vijay Chandel I/C STF, South District, SIs Proshun, Arvind, Vijaypal, ASI Rajender, HCs Narender, Mukesh, Ramesh, Consts. Sandeep, Naveen, Vikas, Satish, Manoj, Harender, Jagat and Manoj Kumar under the supervision of Sh. Palvinder Singh, ACP/Ops, South District was formed.

During the course of investigation, the team examined the CCTV footages of the area and collected the CCTV footage of the accused persons.  The police team worked relentlessly and visited various areas in Delhi & NCR and interrogated various persons who divulged important information about the criminals involved in the robbery.  The information was further developed and on receipt of specific input, the police team nabbed accused Bijender Singh @ Tau s/o Kehar Singh from Baba Haridas Colony, Najafgarh and recovered robbed cash Rs. 1,85,000/-.  During interrogation, accused Bijender disclosed name of gang leader as Ravi who conspired the robbery with the help of Sameer Chugh, Kaku and Dinesh.  Sameer Chugh is a property dealer who procured them information about the huge amount kept in the house of complainant.  At the instance of accused Bijender Singh, accused Sameer Chugh was also arrested from his house and robbed cash Rs. 50,000/- was recovered from his possession, which he got as his share.

On 03.11.16, co-accused Dinesh Kumar was also arrested from Noida (Phase-II) and looted money Rs. 8,00,000/-, one looted gold chain and Alto Car used in commission of crime was recovered on his instance. During interrogation, accused Dinesh Kumar disclosed that he had deposited robbed cash Rs. 2,00,000/- in his saving bank account at Canara Bank.

Interrogation :

During interrogation, accused persons disclosed their involvements in the crime.  Accused Bijender Singh disclosed that in 1986, while he was in jail in a murder case, he came in contact with Ravi who was lodged in jail in a robbery case.  On being released from the jail, he joined Ravi in crime. He further disclosed that they planned to rob Hawala amount as there is no risk of reporting such incidents to police.  Meanwhile, one property dealer namely Sameer Chugh, a competitor of the complainant informed Ravi and Bijender that Pawan Sharma, who is engaged in property business in Chhatarpur used to carry / keep huge cash at his home and if he is targeted, it might be a great catch. On this, Ravi along with Dinesh, Kaku and Bijender planned to rob Pawan Sharma. As per their conspiracy, Ravi and his associates visited the complainant’s office to purchase some property. On 21.10.16, after fail proof planning and reccee, Ravi and his associates reached the house of complainant in Chhattarpur to execute their plan in the Alto Car of Dinesh.  During this period, Ravi and his associates overpowered the complainant and his wife after spraying a nauseating spray on them.  They tied both with bed sheet and rope and warned not to shout at the point of katta and knife. Then, they searched the house and robbed a bag containing cash Rs. 45 lacs, jewelry and also took away some property papers with them.  Later, they divide the robbed booty among themselves.

         The gang leader Ravi and his associates Kaku are still absconding. Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to arrest remaining accused persons and to recover the remaining robbed property.
