FAKE CURRENCY NOTES OF 3.87 LACS VALUE RECOVERED TWO PERSONS ARRESTED

With the arrest of (1) Shajjad Sheikh, aged 30 years s/o Alfuddin Sheikh r/o village Saitha Vari, District Kishan Ganj, Bihar and (2) Mohd Kazim, aged 26 years s/o Abdul Hamid r/o Village Jagdua, District Kishan Ganj, Bihar, South- East District Police have busted a gang involved in circulating fake Indian currency notes. Fake currency notes of Rs 1000/- denomination of the value worth 3.87 lacs have been recovered from their possession.

Incident:
On 27.10.16, an information was received by SI Dinesh Kumar of PS Jamia Nagar that some people involved in circulation of Indian Fake Currency would come to Kalindi Kunj park for selling the fake currency notes. The information was further developed and it was learnt that the accused would sell the fake currency to the person who would give them a secret code. The said code was also revealed by the informer. A trap was accordingly laid at Kalindi Kunj park and a decoy customer was detailed who was provided the secret code. At about 1.30 pm on 27.10.16, two persons came at the given place of information who were apprehended red handed while delivering the fake currency to the decoy customer. 387 fake currency notes of 1000 rupees denomination were recovered from their possession. A case vide FIR No. 1157/16 u/s 489-B/489-C/34 IPC was registered at PS Jamia Nagar.

Team
A team comprising of Insp. Vijay Pal Singh, SHO/Jamia Nagar, SI Jitender, SI Rishi Sharma, HC Hardwari Lal, Ct Sunder Kasan, Ct Shodan and Ct Mahipal was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Harcharan Verma, ACP/NFC.

Investigation
Both the accused were subjected to sustained interrogation during which they revealed that they procured the fake currency from a source of Uttari Dinajpur, West Bengal who in-turn procured it from Bangladesh. Earlier also they had brought fake currencies on four occasions from the same person and delivered it to their sources in Mumbai and Delhi and they used to earn 20% of the total delivered amount. This consignment was to be delivered partly in Delhi and partly in Mumbai. Further investigation is in progress to unearth the entire racket and also to know the identity of the persons to whom the deliveries were made in the past as also in the present incident.

  1. Shajjad Sheikh s/o Alfuddin Sheikh r/o village Saitha Vari, District Kishan Ganj, Bihar is 30 years old. He was a rickshaw puller in Delhi but later on started plying a TSR. Meanwhile he came in contact with a lady and developed friendship with her and shifted to Mumbai. Both of them started giving religious preaching to the children but the earnings were too meager to meet the day to day expenses. In order to earn quick money, he started committing crime.
  2. Mohd Kazim s/o Abdul Hamid r/o Village Jagdua, District Kishan Ganj, Bihar is 26 years old. He used to give religious preaching to the children in Mumbai and recently came in contact with Sajjad. In order to earn quick money, he joined Sajjad in committing crime.
