JISHAN @ PAWWA – MOST WANTED RECEIVER OF STOLEN CARS IN NORTH INDIA- ARRESTED BY IGIS/DWARKA  

• Dismantled and sold thousands of cars in the infamous market of Meerut.
• Three luxurious stolen cars including XUV, Verna and Polo recovered along with loaded country-made pistol      
• Previously involved in 25 cases of Delhi, UP & Haryana and declared Proclaimed Offender in 4 cases

INTRODUCTION

 In a major breakthrough, the Inter-border Gangs Investigation Squad of the Crime Branch has arrested the most wanted receiver of stolen cars in the whole of North India. He has dismantled and disposed of thousands of cars stolen from various areas of Delhi & NCR in the infamous market of Meerut. One country-made pistol and three stolen luxurious cars have been recovered from the possession of the accused who has been identified as Jishan Qureshi @ Pawwa (32 years) r/o Safdarganj Bazar, Meerut, UP.

The accused is involved in about 25 criminal cases of auto-theft and tampering of engine/chassis numbers of vehicles etc. of Delhi, Meerut, Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad and was declared Proclaimed Offender by different courts in four cases of Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad.  

TEAM & OPERATION

In September-2017, the Crime Branch had arrested a notorious autolifter Pawan @ Punnu, who disclosed that his gang had sold out numerous stolen luxury cars to Jishan @ Pawwa in Meerut, UP. Thereafter, in December-2017, the Crime Branch arrested a desperate autolifter Mohit Sharma @ Langda along with his two associates, who also disclosed that his gang had sold out hundreds of stolen vehicles to Jishan @ Pawwa in Meerut, UP.

After that in May-2018, kingpin of autolifter gangs Pramod @ Ganja was arrested by Crime Branch, who also disclosed that his gang had sold about 30 stolen luxurious cars to Jishan @ Pawwa in Meerut, UP.

For the last few months, a dedicated team of 20 police officers of Crime Branch under close supervision of DCP Bhisham Singh, and  ACP Aditya Gautam led by Insp. PC Khanduri comprising SI Data Ram, SI Rohit, SI Mohan Lal, ASI Yudhvir Singh, ASI Vinod, ASI Bijender, ASI Dinesh, HC Vijender, HC Ajit, HC Anil, HC Ramkumar, Ct. Pravindra Malik, Ct. Paramjeeet, Ct. Sunil Kumar, WCt. Mamta and others was hunting round the clock for the accused Jishan @ Pawwa and several raids were conducted at his different hideouts in Delhi and UP.

After diligent technical and hard field work, on the basis of vital clues received by ASI Yudhvir Singh & HC Ajit Singh the Crime Branch team succeeded to arrest the accused Jishan @ Pawwa near Dhulsiras Village, Dwarka in a stolen Polo car, while he whipped out his country-made pistol towards the raiding party in order to flee. Later on, two stolen luxurious cars including XUV and Verna were also recovered from his garage in Meerut, UP.

INTERROGATION & DISCLOSURE

The accused Jishan @ Pawwa belongs to a middle class family residing in Meerut, UP and is 4th amongst 7 brothers and sisters and is illiterate. After working as a helper in different workshops and garages for about 7-8 years, the accused Jishan @ Pawwa opened his own garage about 3-4 years back.

To begin with, he used to purchase small stolen cars like Santro, Wagon-R etc. but after that he only purchased luxurious cars & SUV’s viz. Fortuner, Innova, XUV, Verna etc. as per condition and model, which were stolen by different gangs of autolifters from Delhi and adjoining areas.

He is involved in 6 cases of Delhi, two cases of Gurugram, one each of Noida & Ghaziabad and about 15 cases of Meerut, UP of auto-theft and tampering of engine/chassis of the vehicles. He has been declared a Proclaimed Offender by different courts in four cases of Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad.

Interrogation of accused Jishan @ Pawwa further revealed that during past few years, the accused used to purchase stolen cars from several auto-lifter gangs active in Delhi and NCT and thousands of stolen cars have either been dismantled by him or sold out to another notorious receiver of Meerut after keeping his commission who further supplies them in other parts of India. He also provides keys of the cars to some auto-lifter gangs, which they later use for replacing with original keys of targeted cars parked outside mansions in posh colonies and the keys kept with guards/cleaners.

Concerned authorities have been informed regarding the arrest of the accused. Investigation of the case is in progress. Raids are being conducted to nab his associates.
