Launch of Six ‘PARAKRAM’ Vans in National Capital

PRELUDE : PCR is the lifeline of National Capital and backbone of Delhi Police. PCR is available for the service of citizens of Delhi 24x7x365. From time to time Delhi Police keeps on strategizing and altering methodologies to meet emergent challenges. Accordingly Delhi Police has decided to induct six more ‘Parakram’ Vans in its armoury to make citizens safe. Twenty four Parakram Vans have already been launched in May and August 2017. After an impact assessment, six more Parakram Vans are being launched today i.e. 18.05.18 by Spl. Commissioner of Police Women Safety, Airport, Modernization & Operations, Delhi from C - Hexagon Rajpath crossing, New Delhi for deployment at selected locations. These ‘Parakram’ Vans are mandated for counter terrorism interventions and other serious law & order situations. The primary aim of deploying these ‘Parakram’ Vans is to instil a feeling of security and safety amongst citizens by maintaining high visibility with a mandate to respond promptly to real life situations.


  
COMPOSITION & CONSTITUENTS
It has been decided to locate these ‘Parakram’ Vans at selected vulnerable and strategic points comprising of high footfall areas and iconic buildings. The newly inducted six Parakram Vans would be located at – C Hexagon Rajpath crossing, Priya Cinema market, CGO Complex, Lajpat Nagar Market, Karol Bagh Market and Cross River Mall. All these ‘Parakram’ Vans are GPRS enabled and are fitted with pan Delhi wireless communication. Each Parakram Van has been provided with a phablet with internet connectivity and recording facility. Each ‘Parakram’ Van will be manned by one driver, one In-charge and three commandos. Drivers deployed on these vans will be armed with small weapon and are trained by NSG in offensive/evasive driving with 360 degree turning and firing in mobile mode. Commandos will be in war mode 24x7 and will be attired in dungaree fatigues, bullet proof vests and armed with MP-5 automatic weapons. In-charge of the Parakram Van would be wearing tactical vest and would be equipped with a stun gun with light, body borne camera, pepper spray, baton etc. Each commando will wear tactical belt with pouch, all weather cap, arms and knee pads, anti ballistic goggles, half gloves, pepper spray etc.
Short term commando refresher trainings have been planned for the commandos and drivers deployed on Parakram Vans at regular intervals to maintain their fitness and professional skills.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas.
