A gang of notorious night burglars busted.

• 3 persons arrested including one proclaimed offender.
• Lots of stolen branded attire, One Nikon camera and two aluminum trays recovered.

• 04 Cases of high profile theft of at branded showrooms (Reebok, Raymond, US Polo and Khemchand & Bros Shop) in Connaught Place worked out.

          With the arrest of 3 professional thieves of Raju Gang including (1)Raju Paneer Silvam Age 57 Yrs R/o Tuglakabad, Extn, New Delhi. (2) Sanjeev Kumar@ Raja Age 48 Yrs R/o Tuglakabad Extn. New Delhi (3) Nandu Rawat Age 32 Yrs  R/o Govind Puri, Nehru Camp, Kalkaji and Wellness Medicos, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi, the team of PS Connaught Place/New Delhi District has busted a notorious gang of professional thieves who were involved in several cases of theft/burglary in branded showrooms of Connaught Place  Delhi.  

Incidents:-   

1. On 04/5/2018 a complainant Shankar lodged a complaint that on 03/05/18 he closed his shop in Connaught Place, New Delhi in the evening and on 04/05/18 morning when he and his staff came at the shop they found that the main gate was open and the lock was broken. Cash Rs 60,000/-, some documents/papers and meat along with two aluminum trays were stolen from the shop.  

2. On 07/05/2018 complainant, Store Manager, of another branded showroom in Connaught Place  New Delhi reported that on 06/05/18 he closed the above shop at around 10.40 PM and on 07/05/18 morning when he and his staff came at the shop they found that the main gate was open and the lock was broken. Cash Rs 3,23,531/-, Jeans about 40-45, Shirts about 50, trousres about 45-50, T-shirts about 40, Blazers about 20, Belts 10 were stolen from the shop.

3. On 12/05/2108 complainant, Store Manager, of a Showroom at Connaught Place reported that on 12/05/18 she closed the above showroom at around 9.00 PM and on 13/05/18 morning when she and her staff came at the showroom they saw that the main gate of glass was open and the lock was broken. Two pocket Pin worth Rs 4500/- and one camera worth Rs 5000/- was found stolen from the said showroom of Raymond.

4. On 14/05/2018 complainant , Manager, of a Showroom at Inner Circle Connaught Place  reported that on 13/05/18 he closed the above shop at around 10.00 PM and on 14/05/18 morning when he and his staff came at the shop they saw that the main gate was open and the lock was broken. Cash Rs 30,000/-, DVR CCTV Camera, Reebok Bag, some attire were stolen from the shop.

On these above complaints cases vide FIR No.476/18, U/S 380/457 IPC, FIR No.484/18, U/S 380/457 IPC, FIR No. 501/18, U/S 380/457 IPC and FIR No.506/18, U/S 380/457 IPC were registered respectively at PS Connaught Place, New Delhi and investigation was taken up.

Team:-

          A police team consisting of SI Amit Kumar, ASI Banwari Lal, Ct Rakesh, Ct Anil, Ct Manjeet and Ct Satyender,  under the leadership of Insp. Vinod Narang, SHO/PS Connaught Place, New Delhi District . 

Investigation:-

          During course of investigation, the CCTV Footage of the showrooms and nearby area were collected. Around 20-25 CCTV cameras footage of Inner Circle Connaught Place were analyzed.  On analysis of the CCTV footage, it has been revealed that in each incident three persons came in between 03.00 AM to 05.00AM in a Hatchback taxi car Make Tata number last four digits number 1425 white colour with some equipments and two of them break the locks of branded showrooms with the help of cutter and other equipments. They entered the showroom and stole the items.  After that all the three persons escaped in the same Tata hatchback car bearing no 1425 white colour.

         The task of developing information about the gang of such criminals and to arrest them, was assigned to the above team.  The team worked hard and collected 20-25 CCTV cameras footage. The team obtained the list of all Taxi hatchback cars bearing no 1425 and developed sources to find clues about such criminals who used taxi in burglary. The team came to know that three persons Raju, Nandu and Rahees of Raju Gang were arrested along with a Innova Car in PS North Rohini in mid 2017 and one of the members of this gang namely Raza was declared PO in the case.  The addresses of these criminals were verified and found that all had left their previous residences. All these accused persons were the resident of Sangam Vihar area. The team further developed sources to collect clues about these criminals and got information that Nandu was seen with Taxi Tata Indica car. The team got a specific information that Raju and his gang members may again come in Connaught Place for committing theft. SHO Connaught Place constituted a team of SI Amit Kumar and laid a special picket at Metro gate No 6 Inner Circle as any vehicle which come from South Delhi certainly cross at this picket. On 20/05/2018 at around 04.00 AM one car Tata Indica came from Janpath Radial and by the alertness of team the car was stopped by barricading at picket.  Three person (1) Raju Paneer Silvam Age 57 Yrs. (2) Sanjeev Kumar@ Raja Age 48 Yrs (3) Nandu Rawat Age 32 Yrs were found in the car. On inspection of car, one big cutter and other house/ lock breaking equipments were found in the car. All three disclosed that they are the same persons who had recently committed theft in branded showrooms in Connaught Place. All three were arrested and interrogated. 

Interrogation: - 

During interrogation, accused persons disclosed that in 2017 they were arrested in a burglary case of PS Rohini and after release from the jail, they had changed their residences. In April 2018 they again met and planned to work together. Logistic supply was the work of accused Nandu Rawat, place of theft was identified by Sanjeev@Raza and Raju experts in breaking the locks was the gang leader.  Gang Leader Raju is so expert that when he breaks the locks without creating noise.  From the possession of the accused persons, Lots of stolen branded attire, One Nikon camera and two aluminum trays have been recovered. One big cutter and other house/lock breaking equipments also recovered. One Car Tata Indica white colour used in commission of crime was also recovered.
