SUMMER CAMP 2018/PFWS

In a break from the past Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) organized Summer Camps at 10 adopted police colonies namely Civil Lines, Sarai Rohilla, Ashok Vihar, Rohini Sec. 11, Paschim Vihar, Tilak Nagar, Andrewj Ganj, Model Town, Pocket B-4 Narela, Kaushambi and Mehram Nagar for the first time apart from 10 welfare centers for a better outreach of programme. These camps were organized for a duration of 3 weeks.


During these Summer Camps, a wide range of activities had been organized for different target groups.  Different activities and time-slots were allotted at Centers as per there interest and predilection identified through a systematic survey in these colonies.  Prominent trainers/experts were resourced through voluntary participation who had agreed to extend their specialized services during the Camp to train the families of police personnel. A large number of nearly 85 prominent persons specialized in their respective domains shared their expert knowledge/experience with the wards of police personnel:-
Nine Dramatist from “Sangeet Natak” Academy, Ten Dancers and Nine Musicians from “Tansen Academy” helped in Drama and Dance classes. Counseling sessions were carried out by Mr. Beni Kinha from “Nectar factor” and Dr. Renu Gulati and Dr. Namarta from “Tulsi Healthcare”, apart from other ten counsellors.  English speaking sessions were carried out Dr. Rajni Sahni & Dr. Anju Dahiya apart from other twelve teachers. A total of Nine Cooking/Culinary artists were resourced from “Excuse Me Bose Café” for developing a flair for dishes. Three Theatre Artists from “Tansen Academy” and Four Beauticians from “Geetanjali Saloon”, Four proficient experts in Art and Craft from “College of Art and Craft” helped impart artistic skills. Life skills course, grooming classes, Khadi Workshops by “Khadi India”, Public Speaking sessions, Self Defence course though tie up with “SPUW&C”, Rangoli classes, Vedic maths, Zumba and Bow activities were also organized in a wide panorama of activities.
President/PFWS Smt. Suchana Patnaik, graced the formal closing of these summer camps. The prominent resource persons and trainers/experts were felicitated by President/PFWS and
Team leaders. Certificates and Mementos were given to these resource persons. The Addl. DCsP/Welfare-cum-Estate Officer of all 14 Districts extended all possible support for the families of police wards in their jurisdiction to make the Summer Camp a grand success.

Another important wing of the welfare activity was Sports for young aspiring boys & girls during the Summer Camps in five disciplines i.e Kabbadi, Basketball, Football, Wrestling and Badminton.  The players/coaches of different sports categories from Delhi Police sports teams imparted training and monitored the sporting/physical activity. About 400 wards of Police Personnel (boys and girls) participated everyday in these camps which were organized at the different welfare centers during evening hours.

After the completion of camp, a screening test of players was also conducted to check their performance/improvement during the summer camp to identify potentials. Some Reputed coaches from different sport disciplines rendered their valuable time and sporting tips.  Few prominent amongst them were Shri S.K. Mathur (Coach Delhi Administration) for Athletics, Shri Kanhaiya Kumar (Coach M.B. Badminton Academy) for Badminton, Shri Sanjay Singh (Coach Delhi Administration) for Football, Shri Dheeraj Kumar (Coach Delhi Administration) for Kabaddi and Ms. Kirti Yadav (Coach and International Player Chattarsal Stadium) for Wrestling as External Experts. A total of 40, 27 and 24 boys and girls in each discipline were identified in three different categories as A, B, C in order of their potentiality/competency.

The entire activity was planned under the aegis of welfare unit of Delhi Police.

Sagar @ Punter a sharp shooter of Naveen Khati Gang arrested

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp. Pankaj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Pankaj Sood, ACP has arrested sharp shooter of notorious and desperate gangster Naveen @ Khati namely  Sagar @ Punter, alongwith his associate Ravi @ Cheeru. Two pistols alongwith 9 cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A Bullet Motor-Cycle used by gangster has also been seized. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. There is a long history of gang war in Najafgarh and adjoining areas. Naveen @ Khati gang is a desperate gang having rivalry with Manjeet Mahal/ Ravinder @ Bholu gang. They are splinter group of Anoop/Balraj gang which had rivalry with Krishan Pehlwan gang. HE ALLEGEDELY OPERATED INSIDE THE JAIL CARRYING REWARD OF Rs. 20,000/- District Anti Robbery Cell, NWD has nabbed a desperate extortionist namely Harsimran @ Badal @ Simran s/o Harvinder Singh r/o BK-1/103-A, East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, who is gang leader of Harsimran @ Badal Gang and carrying reward of Rs. 20000/-. He is a dreaded criminal of PS Shalimar Bagh and is involved in total 15 cases including two murders at PS Burari & Mandir Marg. He was wanted in many cases of Extortion etc. With his arrest four cases of Extortion and Arms Act of North West Distt have been worked out.
