ONE DRUG DEALER ARRESTED WHILE TRYING TO OVERRUN AN IPS (P) OFFICER AND CONSTABLE AT CROSS RIVER MALL

  • 134 GRAMS OF FINE QUALITY CHARAS SEIZED.

INCIDENT:-

On the intervening night of June 06 & 07, 2018, Sh. Harsh Indora, IPS(P) was deployed as night GOs checking officer in Shahdara District. During the Patrolling as night GO at around 01:00 AM, he noticed that a Toyota Corolla Altis car no. DL 3C BD 2793 was parked on the side of the road in suspicious condition near Crossriver Mall, Anand Vihar. The gypsy of Night GO was parked in front of the suspicious car to prevent it from fleeing away and police staff including IPS probationer, operator and driver got down to check the vehicle and driver. The driver was asked to get down from the car to which he complied but when he was asked to open boot of his car he started acting suspicious. He sat in the car and acted as if he needs the key to be taken out to open the boot. As the suspicion grew and he was asked to step out but instead he put a reverse gear and pulled back the car with driver side door still open and dragged the IPS probationer and operator Constable Sunil Godara for certain distance injuring them, to make room for himself to flee from the spot. He then started driving the car forward with the door of the driver side still open. At this instance Ct. Sunil Godara jumped into the car and probationer along with his driver Ashok Kumar immediately followed the car in their Gypsy. The car was stopped by Ct. Sunil by turning the steering and ramming it into the pavement. He was the overpowered by the staff. During the enquiry, the Driver was identified as Pranav Chauhan r/o Surya Niketan, Anand Vihar, Delhi (Aged 26 yrs). On checking the boot of the car, Hash (Charas) was found in a steel container, must have weighed at least 100 Gms, some syringes and blades. In this regard, two cases vides FIR No. 205/18 u/s 186/353/332/307 IPC and FIR No. 206/18 u/s 20 NDPS Act have been registered at Police Station – Anand Vihar, Shahdara District.

INTERROGATION REPORT:-
During the course of interrogation, the accused Pranav Chauhan disclosed that he used to purchase the drug from Ashutosh r/o Bhagpat and Manish whose address is yet to be ascertained. Ashutosh used to call the accused at ISBT to deliver the drug. Accused was found having a small digital weighing machine also.

  • Pranav Chauhan r/o Surya Niketan, Anand Vihar, Delhi (Aged 26 yrs). He studied upto 12th class. Occupation = Business. He is previously involved in following cases which is as under:-
  1. Case FIR No. 396/17 u/s 506/509/34 IPC Act & 40(B) Delhi Ex. Act. PS Anand Vihar.
  2. Case FIR No. 629/15 u/s 323/341/34 IPC Act PS Anand Vihar.
  3. Case FIR No. 791/15 u/s 323/341/34 IPC Act PS Anand Vihar.
  4. Case FIR No. 954/15 u/s ¾ Gambling Act PS Vivek Vihar.
  5. Case FIR No. 471/14 u/s 392/34 IPC PS GTB Enclave.
  6. Case FIR No. 437/14 u/s 394/34 IPC PS GTB Enclave.
  7. Case FIR No. 271/14 u/s 307/341/34 IPC PS Jagat Puri.
RECOVERY:-
  • 134 grams Charas in a steel container.
  • Digital weighing machine.
  • Some syringes and Blades.
  • Toyota Corolla Altis Car No. DL-3C-BD-2793 (Seized).

Two sophisticated pistols alongwith 9 cartridges recovered. A reward of Rs 50,000/- was declared by Delhi Police for his arrest. A team of Special Cell, Northern Range, led by Insp. Sanjay Nagpal, Inspr. Prabhat Kumar & Insp.
